Cars are only getting more technical. With the cpu and all these sensors. Cars start getting wonky and you will get service engine soon lights. My thing is people get what you intend the first time. I got about 18,000 worth of mods on my challenger and with putting 18,000 with my trade in I could of easily afford a rt or scat pack. I'll never get my money back for all those mods I put on mine plus have some problems on mine that are annoying. The car has never been the same in a bad way. It's not worth it. Sleepy could of easily got an rt and then some with all that money that he put in his challenger easy.
@Sleepy62 ай бұрын
Yes true I could got a rt but as of now. It more appealing to see what a sxt can gt do. Mods you won’t never get money it apart of the game of modding. the price of a brand new rt and I choose not to want rt anyway if it ain’t a hellcat it not worth spending high monthly payment and that sir where I save money at and enjoy v6 vehicle. I got corvette and modding ain’t cheap buy the time Im done modding I probably should have save up for a c7 or c8 but anyway it this an unless cycle cars are cars. I cant judge no one for modding a Prius or Miata people is people. At the end of the day it the owners money and joy. No such thing as a right and wrong in modding a car. I got check engine lights on my vette and Acura rsx it no different. The goal is to have something cool it doesn’t have to make sense in everyone view. And yes the cost difference is huge between modding a v6 vs the rt. Logically you got think what the 12k cost difference between the two vehicles dealerships cost are. It only takes 6k to keep up with a stock scat.
@Sleepy62 ай бұрын
But I would recommend to anyone they scared of a little check engine lights car modding is not for you. That why we as real mod cars enthusiasts buy gauges or just use a scan tool to monitor problems not time 9 time out of ten it nothing wrong because sensors are weak link. It’s not for the weak hearted and daily driver.

@@Sleepy6 yea true, you're exactly right, you can save with insurance and monthly payments. And technology your doing mods over time not all at once you're spending money over time. But I do like what you did and glad you're enjoying it. I still enjoy mine as well and only got 60,000 miles on it for 2011 and paid off so I can't complain. But it is a nice experiment to see what you can get out of a v6 challenger. But people like what they like and glad that you like doing it. Sometimes it is addictive on what you wanna do to customize and improve your ride. Thank you for the feedback and your hard work.

One thing out of 18,000 dollars of custom work I did. One small thing that made a big difference is lowering my car. Lowering it makes it look mean and aggressive. I can see some fender wells on your car. Actually helps your car handling as well
@mrnemesis38712 ай бұрын
I have to say favorite mod i did on mine was the lowering. Its something so small but makes a big difference.

What exhaust do you have? And what tune. I have a 2017 Challenger SXT Plus. Stock Exhaust, K&N intake. My car for a V6 can somehow tag along with R/Ts until I hit the 100mph range for some reason. I've also been able to keep up against the V8 Camaros until those speeds. Off the line, in manual, 6.1sec-6.3sec to 60 lol with a Roar Pedal. I'll like to do more with my exhaust sound. At high RPMs is when my car makes the noises 😂

I got 35,000 miles on it, I also see people have problems as well but the issues are all different. Just anything mechanical a person neglects will show up eventually.

You should get the transmission and the rear beefed up as much as possible to handle that huge increase in WHP, and that torque curve imo for longevity. Check out a company called Baxter jeep they have a fix to run wix and high end oil filters of your choice it will keep oil in the top end so your valve train will not wear out as fast a dry start can take 3 seconds to full circulate around tge top end over time that is alot of seconds.

If you got the ported manifold or is planning on get the port one I would suggest installing it all at once. But the throttle body would fit on the stock manifold as well.
