It looks great, but I really wish there was a way to get the finish without the bumped look around the edge.
@unwind_knitwear7 күн бұрын
Hmm tricky... you need to purl bumps on the right side to get the fabric to fold nicely at that point. Without it you would have an edge that didn't sit flat. I will have a think on that problem though!

If we don’t do the collar, how many rows do we do before starting the saddle shoulder ? And where do we take the pattern of this beginning without the collar
@unwind_knitwear28 күн бұрын
There's an information box on the top right of p.4 of the pattern that directs you. Essentially work the cast on, R1-3, then progress directly to the Right Saddle Shoulder on p.5.

Thank you! I’m trying to add this shaping to an existing pattern that doesn’t have neck shaping. You said 1-1.5 inches of short rows for an adult, but what about for a 2 or 4 year old? Should I just halve that? Thanks again!!
@unwind_knitwear3 ай бұрын
Yes I would have thought that around 0.5-0.75" of short row shaping would be sufficient for a 2-4 year old.

When I get to last three stitches there is a marker and no others after that but after says knit to marker states “sm, K to last st of row , pm k1 but there are no more markers for the rest of this row. When I look at your video it looks like you had one marker left too once you completed last three knit stitches. What am I missing?

Very nice tutorial in explaining how to pick up sts and making the Icord. I have a sweater pattern worked top down. Is it possible to work the Icord edge at the beg of the pattern or is it just for finishing afterwards? Thx<3
@unwind_knitwear7 ай бұрын
It is possible to knit an I-Cord on its own and then pick up stitches along the I-Cord to create the stitches you need. It is also possible to work an "I-Cord Cast On" but I find my tension on the first row of stitches is a little off with that technique. If I find a solution to that issue I'll post a tutorial on it!
