I enjoyed the video. Good idea on the cardboard for germination. I usually spread used boxes over the ground between my beds. It controls the weeds, keeps me from walking in mud after rain, and turns into worm food.

I have a community garden plot where I grew a 4x8 bed of corn last year. I'm not sure if it was squirrels, raccoons, or rats but half the ears looked like yours. The ears were shredded. This year I've planted a 4x12 bed in my backyard garden so I'm hoping the ears will be more protected from whatever ravaged my crop last year. Glad you were able to get a decent harvest from your corn though. I've discovered eating corn raw right off the stalk is surprisingly sweet and delicious! Cheers!

Exactly what I needed. I would like to make the legs at 4’ (vertical) and build the same shelf for smaller pots to put on top. Trying to avoid the other builds I have seen that are stair step design to save on space. Will that be safe?
@THEFIRSTTIMEGARDENER-mp9vv7 ай бұрын
Should work fine with an additional 2x4 half way between the ground and shelf for added support for the hight of the legs. Good luck with the build. Happy Gardening

Hi I am wondering why you amend your soil so heavily? Thanks
@THEFIRSTTIMEGARDENER-mp9vv9 ай бұрын
Good morning. So my bad i forgot to put a link in the description about part 1 which i will go back today and do that. The reason is, this is an extension of my garden and is virgin soil with a lot of sand and clay and has never been grown in before. It was just grass. Because of the high sand and clay content, it would be hard to grow anything in it. This will be the only time i need to amend this plot so heavy. Next time growing will be just using cow manure and some fertilizer. Hope that answered your question. Thanks for watching and for your comments... Happy Gardening
