In my experience, the legendary Glock reliability claims have been painfully exaggerated. YMMV
@josephshields295913 сағат бұрын
@@LEADitOUT but is it not a repeatable test that glocks will go further without care? the tolerances are more forgiving for adverse conditions such as excess sand or mud, same reason why the beretta beat the 1911 when they had side by side reliability testing during military testing, using many guns and hundreds of thousands of rounds not to say your personal experience is invalid, but this is just statistically proven

@@LEADitOUT I do agree that the 2011 platform is much easier to shoot and have follow up shots than any polymer fire striker on the market
@LEADitOUT12 сағат бұрын
@josephshields2959 though there is some merit to the usefulness of loose tolerances, I think people get carried away with the perceived conditions their "hard use" pistols are actually going to get exposed to. If you are going to an extreme climate that requires exception, choose accordingly, but more common is negligent care, in which I would also say, choose accordingly

I don’t have much time on 2011s, what would be the purpose of a slide stop undercut?
@LEADitOUT4 күн бұрын
It makes the paddle more accessible for locking back the slide. It becomes an issue with 2011s because their frames are wider in that section than a 1911, basically covering up the underside of the slide stop paddle.

Great review! Have you shot the apollo and if so, how did this shoot compared to it? My buddy had his athena ported with the same type of ports the apollo comes with and I'd imagine they shoot very similar. The vulcan ports work great though, i have them on my P Heritage and it made a huge difference. Fellow 1911addict here btw (same name)

@@Therapewtic The Apollos shoot nice. The difference over a stock Athena isn't as great as with the Vulcan ports, but it's still a nice bump up.

Do you have any experience on the Eos or Apollo? I'm looking for one more 2011 that can do it all, and I don't mind carrying a full size (even if Atlas full size is only 4.6in). I've heard the Apollo is a great performer, but I hate the slide cuts and that they didn't flush cut the barrel unlike the Eos. Then again I guess I could just buy the Athena for $500 less and then port it like this one here lol
@LEADitOUT5 күн бұрын
@Enyalus87 I've shot an Apollo and though they shoot nice, the difference between an Apollo and an Athena isn't as much as the Vulcan ports provide on an Athena. With carry being a consideration, I'd look at porting a Nyx, or the Eos. In the next month or so I should be having a go with an Ignis ported Nyx. I'll try and record a short with how that stacks up

@LEADitOUT5 күн бұрын
@venomgt7299 I've shot an Alien and while it was an interesting experience, I didn't love it. A bit of an awkward beast. The way the 2011 market is expending there are some increasingly compelling options for at least getting close to Atlas for considerably less

@LEADitOUT8 күн бұрын
@ChronisBeanisIII I prefer the XC. Compared to an XC the Vudoo only makes sense "to me" if you need an uncomp'd pistol for competition purposes, or you really want the metal grip and aren't interested in modding. I prefer the Vudoo to the ACW I have used, though I am curious how the Fowler V9 will compare.
