I think what makes The Matrix stand the test of time is it's authenticity. It doesn't pretend to be anything else.

Know this is old, but I wanted to make a mention of something that hit the pirate sea regarding matrix 2 & 3: Someone released a single movie that combined matrix 2&3 into a single film, and only took out every single Zion scene. They touched NOTHING ELSE. I recall thinking it was better than 2 or 3.

I remember when my dad was going to rent the original film from Blockbuster and the clerk warned him that it’s long, confusing and you’ll need to watch it a few times to come to grips with it. So my dad passed and I didn’t watch it until I was a young teen. I immediately fell and love and have seen the entire trilogy at least a dozen times. Most people just look at it like a cool action flick. Then there’s people who love the story and the setting, but don’t actually get it. Then there’s the rest of us. You have to read other books outside the series and engage with other films like mentioned here. I’m convinced that the latest Matrix film was just a fuck you to WB and a eulogy for the series.

Very interesting take. My only gripe is that Sophia Stewart created the matrix and the actual story is a lot deeper. The wachawoskis took the pitch and ran off to Hollywood with it and switched a lot of things up

nothing shows simulation and matrix than the requim for a dream theme song. and mad world. But i guess in a far distant alternate dimension of retards, it coudl be said technology, sdpirituality and other "strange" creeepy things represent this clearly "mad world" type nightmare of a hell we all live in.

"Trinity: “You know the question, just as I did.” Neo: “What is the Matrix?” Trinity: “The answer is out there, Neo. It’s looking for you. And it will find you if you want it to.” -The Matrix This exchange takes place in a techno Goth club near the beginning of The Matrix, before Neo understands what the Matrix is and before he ever meets Morpheus. These lines set Neo’s adventure in motion. Not long after this exchange takes place, Neo will decide to let the Matrix find him, and he will discover that more than one person has been counting on him to find and understand an important answer to a cryptic question. From the very beginning, the film suggests that more than one real world exists, if we can just open our minds to it. Trinity suggests that Neo can’t avoid this other world, and that it’s open for him if he knows how to look for it. Trinity’s final sentence foreshadows the tension that will arise between fate and choice, a tension that will reappear throughout the trilogy. This exchange reveals the true extent of Neo’s double life. As the everyman Thomas Anderson, he holds a day job as a respectable computer programmer and works at night as a renegade hacker, nicknamed Neo. Now he is also a chosen one, someone selected to find the cryptic answer to which Trinity refers. Though Neo is thrust into this strange world with no explanation, he doesn’t seem entirely surprised-when Trinity refers to the question, Neo knows instantly what question she means. On some level, Neo may have expected to one day be taken to task for his suspicions and speculations about reality. That an everyman like Thomas Anderson could be plucked from ordinary life and chosen to search for an answer suggests that anyone in the audience might one day be chosen to be a messiah as well. Here's a subtle hint: What is the Matrix? Answer: The Demiurge What is the Matrix about? Answer: Religion. Specifically Gnosticism. With these clues, you might see the real cryptically hidden meaning of the trilogy. Search for: The Matrix Trilogy: Important Quotes Explained - Sparknotes The Matrix is based on Plato's Allegory of the Cave, but the thing is, the film is also an allegory of we the viewer's real modern world. Watch the film as if the lines might sometimes be directed at you, the viewer e.g. Agent Smith: Did you know that the first Matrix was designed to be a perfect human world? Where none suffered, where everyone would be happy. It was a disaster. No one would accept the program. Entire crops were lost. Some believed we lacked the programming language to describe your perfect world. But I believe that, as a species, human beings define their reality through suffering and misery. The perfect world was a dream that your primitive cerebrum kept trying to wake up from. Which is why the Matrix was redesigned to this: the peak of your civilization. I say your civilization, because as soon as we started thinking for you it really became our civilization, which is of course what this is all about. Evolution, Morpheus, evolution. Like the dinosaur. Look out that window. You've had your time. The future is *our* world, Morpheus. The future is our time.

Think of the matrix in this way as well , Modern society violently pushes towards convenience ! What's more convenient than the towers of people in " the matrix " You only need to look at the dialog from cipher. In the meeting with Smith . Some 25 years later it's scary how analogous that is to today.
@stewartmartin73767 күн бұрын
re watch the matrix and think of smith as the hero or the one
