Great to see someone pointing out that you don’t have to spend at the top end to catch fish. I recall seeing guys rave about the fastest rods, who couldn’t double haul and whose timing was so bad they could barely get a line out. But they’d be telling everyone you had to have the Ferrari type rod. Like you could spend your way to expertise. I fish a lot short, in tangly country, and I like progressive action rods for that. My favourite 4 wt I got for $100 second hand. I have a kid - mate of my son’s - looking at getting into fly-fishing - I might get to look at the DNA stuff.

welcome back a geat way to kick of a sunday when not fishing

Glad to have you back for a while. Me and my son used to watch your newest video every sunday morning. He is 3 years old and landed his first trout (almost) by himself when he was 2 years old. We live in Norway, and your fishing season is when Norway is at it's coldest and darkest, it was just perfect. Hope you stay for a while😊

This makes my weekend cold, and there is snow in the air here in CT. It's great to see you back; all that nonsense is in the rearview mirror. I gave DNA a look, IM-6 graphite that is 1980's top end. I had a Sage RP II 8'6" 5 wt that to this day I consider it to be the best trout rod I ever fished with. Rods these days are way to stiff. Great for casting in the parking lot, not so much as tools to actually fish with. I just may snag a 7 wt, for Great Lakes Steelhead.
