These Cocorans are not the same build or quality of the older ones....I have some I personally wear that are over 30 years old (passed down from my father), obviously broken in....but the leather quality is subpar on these newer ones. I just bought some real vintage WW2 boots and wore those instead since they've served the country for longer than I've been alive :P

Bring back military boots!! Style with functionality. Take jungle boots, for example. They have a purpose, but also a badass silhouette.

Thanks for the video and I like the nut and bolt cone bottom weights - with their lack of reliance on a base. For the reflectors, maybe it would be easier to use multiple perhaps narrower vertical strips of tape around the cone? It would use more tape though.

Hi bro., i know this video is about 2 years old but wanted to commend you on the removal of the dye. It gives the boots visual interest and character. Very unique. Please do a 2 year update and tell us the fun adventures you had with these boots and how they held up over the years and the complaints. I just ordered a black pair but will soon get a brown pair

Put one of the stopper knots in first with the lace out of the shoe. 4 loops. Install the lace and pull the knot up to the eyelet. try the shoe out for tightness while standing up. take shoe off, note the fit. Install square knot. Install another stopper knot on the bitter end and adjust, What, you the the term bitter end came from pulp novels, no they are sailing terms. See you around the bend. Oh and if you want less slack in the pull it from the heel end first. keep them tight, you don't want to slip off the boat.

This a jump boots and the are designed to do just that. They are not intended to be worn out and about on a daily basis. They are straight and lack the treads to avoid slippage. What you need is Corcoran 1525 Combat Field Boots. They have a Birds Mouth Notch halfway up the shin which always the leather to articulate with your leg whereas Jump boots dont have the Birds Mouth Notch hence its so stiff and rigid and causes blisters and pain. Also, Combat boots have Standard Soles whiich afford better traction and are supple.

i was pretty much looking for a more affordable red wing iron ranger. I know the Chippawa service boot is pretty good bang for the buck, but i was interested in a cap toe boot as well. I honestly didn't know about the "U.S. Military WWII Service Boots" which are a more accurate substitute for the iron rangers. But i dig the tall boots, gives me an option for more protection if i need it, while it is a little more time consuming to lace up. I didn't think of the slippage issue with the boots original design. But those combat field boots i may have seen but opted not to get them. I wanted as light on my foot as possible and the big tread may be too much weight and combat aesthetic for the streets, though useful for the hills. The notch would be killer on those boots, i just skip a lace hole, though that may look weird it works.

🎉You have a lot better watch than you realize the only thing that could make it better is a Sapphire Crystal and when your gets scratched up just change it out yourself and put in a new back gasket. You'll end up loving this watch even if you can buy a High end watch in the future

I had mine in the army in 1985. Resoled 2x. You could RUN in these boots and not beat your feet to death. Mine were 49.00 back then. SUGGESTION: replace your laces with paracord.

@vash95452 жыл бұрын
no, I just used a square of sandpaper and wrapped it around a wood block and it came right off

@@vash9545 Thanks bro. I hated that brown paint. I finally got around to sanding it off. Definitely took a bit of elbow grease. However, I did not like the edge of the midsole being left a light tan color, so I brushed some dark brown leather dye around the edge of that, using blue painters tape around the edge of the heels and half soles to keep the dye off there. Looks awesome now, just like the original WW2 version.
