Did you figure out the battery impact? Can the camera enter a low power mode when not recording when connected? I envisage mounting the camera under my handlebar bag and controlling it via phone mounted on the handlebars.
@Luiscameraman8 күн бұрын
Once you set the camera and hit record after a bit the screens turned off and it will record until the battery dies if you are controlling it, say with a phone you'll need to have your phone connected wirelesssly and that might use a bit of battery so don't know how long you would get out of it in that scenario but for sure you get at least a couple of hours of recording, from a full charge.

Dude, you bought a $500 accessory for autofocus when you can't even afford any kind of cinema lens? You're using it on photo lenses it wasn't designed for that ALREADY has autofocus built in... Then you hook it up on the flimsiest rig I've ever seen that can't hold it in place and blame it on the focusing motor? What are you even doing?

Mine came faulty and im stuck with it. I couldn't get it replaced by amazon. My lidar shuts down my ronin rs4 pro. It just hangs. it worked ok for the first couple of days then just went down the drain. Sent it to dji to fix and they sent is back after said repairs and it still doesn't work.
@dabbyfpsАй бұрын
I can see your mounting rod flexing while its focusing. With any motor that has decent torc you really need to have a much more sturdy setup. I really do feel like your regret was 1. avoidable and 2. fixable with a little more rigging to avoid skipping teeth because it flexes out of place.

The first scene is Killeen Beach near Castlecove, The second is Parknasila River, East of Sneem, The third is St Finian's Beach (close to my home), After 2 minutes, we finally take the bridge from Portmagee to Valentia Island... Then we can see Knightstown (not in summer as the ferry is closed), Renard Point, Beginish Island (and Blaskets in the far). The access to the boat wreck on shore road is now closed, as it's pretty dangerous (mostly with almost bare feet...).

Why would you use Lidar on lenses that are already autofocus?
@Luiscameraman2 ай бұрын
Don't think you get how autofocus lenses work. the lens has part of the system, but if the camera is a video camera (Arri, Red, Blackmagic) the lens works as a manual lens. If you are shooting with a DSLR or Mirrorless (stills camera) they have the second part of the autofocus system, so those autofocus lenses work as intended.
@PolarisClubfan3 ай бұрын
I think there is no need to use the Lidar with an AF lenses, it is meant for cinema lenses, try the cheaper ones, the 7artisans spectrum lens is an amazing lens for it’s price

You need to take out the cold shoe out, just unscrew the tightening screw all the way and you can then mount to the cage with a screw instead of the cold shoe base

Luis this is a great unbiased video, proving the capabilities of this camera by some great footage that matches the best image quality out there. I just picked up a slightly used 4.6k to combine with my 4k, and 6k pro for various productions. This video helped me to see that I did not need to purchase a new G2 to obtain the best image quality, for my workflow of shooting Cinematic footage.

Your video says "Full menu operation" -- yet you literally pressed the button that says Menu and said everything under the menu was self-explanatory. Since I specifically was looking to understand the setting under menu that says "Sync" vs the item on the screen that says "Sync," I find this really puzzling.

Just to clarify that I did not get something wrong. Wasn't the an update that made a Camera Stream the image live to the Internetw when connected to a phone? Is that included in that update of did I get that wrong?
@Luiscameraman5 ай бұрын
Kinda, you can connect the camera and use as a webcam and stream via OBS or MS teams, etc. in that case u need a laptop. But you can also shoot and upload rushes directly to blackmagic cloud from the camera via a cell phone. I have used the camera in both situations and it's great. On a recent job, I sent proxies to an editor from the set, with the cell phone by the time we wrapped for the day the editor has a first cut of the project and we send to the client that evening. 🎥🎬

Maybe it work on lenses like the RF’s, that have a very smooth/light focus ring?
@Luiscameraman6 ай бұрын
I have been testing a new lens, but it's just not reliable if the lens does not have hard stops 😔. Like I got it to work with the sigma art 35 1.4 and it was keeping focus at 1.4, but I de-rigged the gimbal and added the lense again and the focus kept being just a tad off, like back focusing. With the samyag manual lenses with hard stops works well and is easy to reset with a new lens, so far I tried 50mm 1.8, 85mm 1.8 and both work well, sadly I don't own a 24mm or a 35 on those manual lenses so haven't been able to test them.

Same sensor, but a better thermal design than the pocket. Blackmagic's goal was to meet a time to market deadline while keeping the cost under $3K. Adding an articulated screen and built-in NDs would have changed the body design, added weight, increased cost, and would have pushed the time to market out too far. Dan May has already hinted at developing more Pyxis models in the future.

It’s a mistake to characterize this as “composing”. It’s more fair to compare the transition that was made from real instruments to synthesized instruments. This is synthetic compositions. It’s emulating real composers but it’s lacking the emotional backbone that comes from a human composition. A composer might be able to use some of what’s generated as starting seeds, or it may be good enough as background music where the emotion is derived from the actors, but as a standalone piece, if it works at all, it will only be because it stole music ideas made by real composers with real emotion to make a shadow of the original work. The problem is most of the listening audience of today may not have the capability to discern the difference simply because so much of the current music out there does essentially the same thing as the software - steals the same tropes from every other piece of popular music that they might be incapable of telling the difference. There is original music out there, but as long as the lawyers and mba’s keep saying “give me something just like what made me money before…”, music will continue towards the generic, common place, predictable, artificial emotion, and any music generating software they try to develop will inevitably follow suit.
@Luiscameraman6 ай бұрын
Yeah totally agree, I think there is a and will always be a debate if AI is good or bad for a certain industry. IMO for copywriting jobs, AI is very capable of that job, like to a decent standard, saving money and time in a production. is this bad or good? I think it depends on who you're asking that to. Going back to the music created by Udio, it is not perfect by any means, but this is the worst it will ever be and that's a scary thought to have.
@kieron6986 ай бұрын
As a music producer I welcome our a.i. overlords, real creators so what they do because they love it. The key is to work along side a.i to enhance and produce a better product.
