Where did you get or where can I get a leather mask form head like you have there?
@bransonsgeneralstore2 күн бұрын
I've had it at least 15 years. I think I originally bought the plastic mask at Michael's and filled it with plaster.

bad news for you , those safes with the touch pad can be opened with a earth magnet
@bransonsgeneralstore3 күн бұрын
Just tried that. It must take one bigger than any rare earth magnets I have around the house. That would mean someone would need to plan enough to bring a larger magnet with them.

Waxed Linen. It is a lot more durable than cotton.

Amazon pretty much alway has $2-$5 cheap cases for any phone. Makes making block templates super easy (I prefer wood over leather...as wood scraps are basically free, whereas leather of the actual size of a cell phone could be used for something else).

Would you do this on a 12" handle? I had a customer request it. I declined, I can't imagine attempting to work with ~20' length lace. The guy determined I was inept and after 26 weeks of asking for things I couldn't deliver the way he wanted but offered alternatives he accepted -- at one point I cut and beveled lace at different widths to braid and send as samples -- this was finally the tipping point for him. I offered braided options that look similar, but he wanted THIS knot, and for me to follow your video.

This looks amazing. I am new to leather works - how do you call this needle tool you use to braid?
@bransonsgeneralstoreАй бұрын
Tandy leather sells them as long jumbo perma-lok needles. You can also find similar needles that are sold for working with parachute cord that should work as well.

I know. Didn't have any .45 colt to shape the loops. I checked the dimensions in my reloading manuals and the .45 ACP I do have is good enough to shape the loops. Only a couple thousandths smaller.

I have been playing with leather since the late 70's. It is always a pleasure to watch a pro at work. I get some pretty good looking projects but watching a pro and listening to your work flow always impresses me. I think my time between work caused a little impatience in me, and it has carried over in my retirement. Thank you for sharing these videos.

Great video! I bought a Bianchi 5906 holster from a flea market pile of gun stuff recently. The guy only wanted $15 for it. The only thing that is just ever so slightly damaged is a very small tear on the front leading edge of the thumb break. I wanted to see about hand sewing a little patch over this cut/tear to prevent it from getting worse or ripping completely apart. Could I send you a few pictures and see what you'd suggest doing?

Im curious is the leather cut straight or curved before you sew it closed?
@bransonsgeneralstoreАй бұрын
The pattern does have a curve to it. It has been a long time since I drew it up. If I am remembering correctly I figured out the height of a cone that would have the diameter of the base and the diameter of the top of the mug at the right height. Then I used a piece of string the height of the cone with one end taped to the table and a loop in the other end for the pencil to mark the curves.
