I'm surprised you got turbo drawing 30 amps from a 15amp battery. I wouldn't use turbo on a battery not designed for that power draw. Mine never worked in turbo. They sent me a duff replacement too meh. I guess the red light of doom was fixed since I got mine a few years back.

Amazon shows this light as having 1400 lumens and 23,104 candela. That is absurdly bright and will have very long throw. This light is on sale for $25 right now. Pretty incredible.

I still have and love my Nitenumen, but have been looking for a replacement (that's how I stumbled on your page). I bought it sometime around the time of this review. Anyhow, I was comment to let you know mine goes directly to whatever mode it was turned off in...with a simple long press. On and off both. Great video, thanks!

Hello there my friend, I'm using the Sofirn SP36-BLF on the handles bars of a high speed Escooter so heat is not a problem due to the wind. How many minutes or hours would you expect it to run on the 6000 lumens setting?
@Lightsngear
@Lightsngear 3 ай бұрын
@@Bushchannel estimates like that are always hard to say because it depends on the capacity size of the battery you're using. I don't think you would need to use it on 6000 lumens either. I can guess maybe 30 minutes but that might not be right.

Good review! I'm seriously looking at getting it but I have some questions first ... From 6,700 lumens in turbo mode, how many lumens and how fast in minutes does it step down? How many lumens does it stepdown to from turbo and how many minutes does it hold those lumens? How many lumens does it run in high mode and how many minutes does it hold those lumens in high mode? Thanks in advance.

Hi! thank you for the compliment. Runtime estimates are usually just...an estimate. And it's always variable depending on the capacity of the battery it's using. Regrettably, I didn't do such measurements, but I'm attaching a link to the manual; manuals.plus/astrolux/torch-ec03-manual.pdf as it might provide other bits of useful information. Thanks!

Charging an AAA battery is problematic. They don't sit well. You need to place them hanging, and should they move they will not charge. I contacted the supplier and they sent new pins. But not sure how to open the unit to replace them. Now they are unreachable. Anyone was able to open the case?

It's really odd that the light doesn't make use of the 8 flood leds in moonlight or low mode but instead only uses the center throw led which gives you a way too focused beam that is hardly useable for EDC tasks like illuminating the path in front of you or other close objects, weird. Apart from that major design flaw the light is quite amazing for dog walking purposes (half press to search for your dog, full press to deter other dogs from approaching). I removed the clip to assemble the lanyard.

Yup! That's exactly the way i felt for years "But" i bought this Nitecore EDC33 knowing that the battery will probably still be going ok in 10-12 years or more just as i had a 10 Year old 18650 which still charged up to 4.19v and worked fine. there's also the fact that i don't have to stuff around with batteries all the time, it's just in there & always charged ready to go. When you have over 150 batteries & over 300 lights its nice to just plug it into USB type C & that's it. Now im waiting for the older brother to come on the market, the EDC35 21700 5000Lm.

I have watched this video three times. Just keep thinking I am missing something. No.. Non-conductive grease to clean, lub metal electrical connection. NO NO NO NO .. Use good old 99 percent alcohol to clean, and then DeOxit Red to Lub. You could use the DeOxit grease which has copper particles but I would not, you want clean metal on metal connections for a flashight connection. Could use the non-conductive grease with the o-rings, maybe that is the confusion.

A man with a BRAIN, and he is actually using the thing. HOORAY! Most people will do anything to avoid using their most powerful organ. Before you buy, make sure that the word "ALKALINE" is printed on the battery. If another chemical is printed, then it then it is a Zinc Carbon battery. I.e., you will be paying extra for a giant step back into the 1950s. Um, does anyone know how I can buy an ACTUAL LITHIUM phone battery? After 5 or 6 tries on Amazon, I have been ripped off every time! The fakes are alkaline. Alkaline can be recharged a few times, but it will never last as long, -plus, it is dangerous.
