Thank you for this upload. I needed this as I'm looking at spray painting some of my car's interior plastic parts.

Great unboxing and nice looking kit. I have one in my stash that was given to me by a very nice fellow.

I was originally issued by Revell in 1970 as the "'54 Chevy Highboy." Except for the funky wheels, but better tires, it's identical to the original 1970 release..

The windshield and other windows aren't fitting very well. The instructions are garbage. My kit and instructions say Trophy Series, but didn't get any of the brochures. I'd like to see a build video of this kit. And how they get the clear parts to fit. NOT an easy kit to build.

Too bad Lindberg didn't make a Wisconsin State Patrol or a Mass. State Police version of this kit. Cool kit, though I don't remember if black interiors were common in the Aero CVs, usually tan, blue or gray was more common in them.

These tanks were originally put out by members of the Santa Fe modelers group. They produced 3 heights of tanks. This is the shortest at 29ft. They were water tanks for steam locomotives. Some had spouts attached to the sides and others had underground pipes to water spouts on pipes sticking up from the ground .

I bought the reissue that came after the one in the video less than a week ago at an Ollie's along with the 1971 Mach I kit from "Live And Let Die". And then this video shows up in my feed without me doing as single search on the car or the kit. Interesting. I guess my phone was spying on me while I was shopping.

This looks really cool, I'd convert it to an SLT package (chrome bumpers). All the stickers are nice and accurate. Would've been cool to see V8 Magnum badges for the front fenders (although this is a sport so V6 magnum badges would be more accurate). Exhaust should come out on the passenger side behind the rear tire. Grille and front bumper are accurate. They got most of the details right seems pretty decent.

I didn't realize this Review was 10 years old. Can that be. ? It is well done and helps to document what these older kits had. I wish there were more like it. Thanks.

I remember in the 60s and 70s Revell cars were usually billed as 1/24.. but some were 1/25. I think some were fudged into 1/25 but were really 1/24. I preferred the 1/24 particularly on smaller cars like 32s. I miss those old Revell kits , some were really good fot the time, like their 34 ford that you could build as stock , custom and Drag.

It is a really good kit. I already built a years ago as a stock 1957 Chevy nomad wagon. My dad bought me another one from Ollie’s in Virginia, I’m building it as a street machine

Thanks for the heads up on this kit. I got it to build as a tribute to my late brother in law as he was a tow truck driver in Detroit. Now, I'm not sure if this is a fitting kit for that purpose. I guess that I could combine the GMC pickup with the plow with this kit and see what I can come up with.

I don't know where you live but in my neck of the woods Hobby Lobby carried this until at least last year. I saw it sometime around Christmas. I got this same kit yesterday (5/6/2023) at Ollie's for $16.00 but the box was a little crushed. Otherwise it looks exactly like the one in this video. I was thinking about building a Nomad for a while as I did when I was a kid around 1985 or so. It was Midnight Blue with sparkles. If they moulded them in that colour today I would simply polish it or spray it with a clear coat. I loved that colour but I don't remember whatever happened to it. At any rate ---- I wanted to build this again but this time I want to make it a tribute the 1957 Chevy to the one that Jessica Alba was driving in "Sin City" with the Powder Blue colour. I don't know why they used to mould them in colour since they were usually painted but being a kid I didn't paint over the metallic bodies. I wish they would do that again but of course since Round 2 in South Bend doesn't care they're all made in CHINA now so all their models are white. Thank you for posting this but I wish that there was a final build video.

Back in the day, that 70's Volare/Roadrunner front suspension swap was actually pretty popular. They were plentiful in the boneyards and offered lots of room to drop in whatever engine

Same here, picked up several of them for builds and parts to kit bash. I already started one, lowered the suspension even more, de-chromed the rims, and replaced the motor with an Ardun flathead from the Revell 50 Ford.
@wilburross9709 Жыл бұрын
@@blkft That sounds like an ambitious build! I just finished my first one of these, built it box-stock. Decided it would look like Robert Williams' roadster if I painted it primer red. It looks pretty good, was a fairly simple build. Cussed how they did the taillights a little. Got the '55 Bel Air (latest Badman reissue) and the '57 Nomad (both Monogram), so the next one might get fuel injection or even a supercharger.

@@wilburross9709 That sounds sweet! I'm kinda stalled on it right now, been messing with other hobbies. I'll get back on it pretty soon.

My local Ollie's still has a few of these on the shelf. I really like the included Steelie rims with the optional dog Ford logo'd caps. They might look good on the Revell 53 Ford P'up or a un-Foosed FD1.

Back in the 1950's rescue squads and ambulances were two different things. Rescue squads were tool trucks attached to the fire department. Ambulances were sometimes attached to the F.D. or were independent volunteer-operated or attached to hospitals. But today it's different because when you say "rescue squad" everyone thinks of the big box-shaped ambulances that seem to be everywhere. But they are not tool trucks. The meaning of the term has changed......Also I think they should have included "Civil Defense" decals because back then during the Cold War CD also operated ambulance vans such as this one, usually painted in the federal colors of blue and white.

I'm in the middle of making this model, and the modeller's note page is useful. The reason for this is down to the need to stop construction every now and again, in order to paint.

This looks like an excellent kit for the beginner and the experienced modeler. One thing I remember that was a complaint when it came out was that the the back end was said to be too short. It would be interesting for somebody to compare it to the monogram kit
