You maybe very correct on this. But this is my way of doing this in 10 minutes or less. If this problem happens again I will repeat the same process again. BTW, may we see your correct way?

@@willy-VD I have been using 3-in-one lub oil. I think sewing machine oil should be fine too. I would be careful about lubricants containing acid content. I would lubricants on the pendulum and other axis with tiny drop to start with. Good luck.

This looks like somewhere in the shutter control chain can’t latch on due to the part wearing. I would do some trial and error along those axis by pushing it a little further or wiggle it to see if shutter can latch. You can catch this video more carefully when you advance film level where those arms and wheels should stay..Good luck my friend.

I would try lubrication first using the lubricants for cameras. Then to see…

Need to twist it counter clockwise a little bit until everything aligned and there is a click sound when it is aligned. The process takes some trial and error. Good luck.

Actually I don’t use this lens much other than T or B stops because I normally use it for night scene. I agree you this is a lubricant problem. And we should be able to fix it by a simple cleaning after remove lens glass pieces. I will find some time to do a video on this. Thank you for asking.

Yes use 99% alcohol first. I would try to damp the moving parts along the space between the two pieces first not to damp the seals. If the problem is not resolved after this then give it a bath. The alcohol probably will dissolve the seals and need to redo the seals. Thank you 🙏 for watching.

Yes you can install another focusing screen on FM2. Its focusing screen is exchangeable. There are on line video show how to do that. Good luck.

Thank you for asking. FM2 issue is caused by aging lubricants and FE2 suffered water damage. There is a 2nd part of this video. That FE2 is not repairable. I’m trying to find another one….

The shutter was blocked by the falling off focusing screen which lying across the lens mount and the mirror. So the lens can’t be detached because of the falling focus screen and the shutter can’t rearmed because of the mirror stuck by the focusing screen. Once the screen is took out, the shutter/mirror are working. The key to solution is cutting off the front part.
