Hey Stacey! I’m based in the midlands and I and many other florists in this area do a 3x markup on our flowers. On top of this the VAT if you’re registered and any delivery and set up charges xx

Beautiful Jem thank you for sharing. Can you share how you got your name out there, any tips on finding new customers, im trying to focus on funeral flowers but will do bouquets too. It feels really hard right now trying to get things off the ground. Love your videos keep them coming xx
@jemsfloralstudiotheacademy70914 күн бұрын
Hi Karen, yes sure. So I started off doing my bouquets very cheaply and sharing them on local Facebook community pages. I then made sure my bouquets were different from everyone else’s and gave the WOW and shock factor. After I had a good customer base from starting off cheap I could then put my prices properly and the rest is history. To be honest, it’s been a very quite couple of months for daily orders for me and other florists in the community so don’t be disheartened. It took me about 2 years to get a good customer base xxx

Rose is much to big it's massive and it's not suitable for a buttonhole mid sized rose or bud rose and you need strong foliage like ivy or ruscus to highlight the arrangement Not to be too critical as everyone has their own style but it's a bit clumpy and oversized if you are going to add wheat you need to group it together tightly The stems need to be covered with twine or stem tape
@jemsfloralstudiotheacademy709110 күн бұрын
Thank you! I usually make the buttonholes bespoke to the customer. There are so many different styles of buttonholes you can do, this is just an example. I can make other tutorials using other techniques like wiring and taping , twining, full ribbon, different flowers and foliage like calla lily, spray roses, carnations etc. I can show examples of different sized lengths as well. if that would be helpful, I can do like a compilation of different styles. Xxx

Jem I made my dad's funeral tributes today, after binge watching most of your videos and using your handy tips and tricks and following your fabulous techniques for spacing the diamond is imprinted in my brain 😅 and the look fabulous I did a coffin spray a 24 "heart and pops on the letter bar and I am sooo sooo pleased it cost me half the price (as I got a quote for all from my local floor) and it's so much more personal you normally spend all that money to see them for 1/2 max and that's it this way I've enjoyed them a few days as I got them so the roses and chrysanthemums would open beautifully and I feel I've done him proud thank you so much I wish I could put up pictures thank you 😘 xxxx

Beautiful arrangement. I have a question if you don't mind. I have been watching many of your fantastic videos as I am doing a 3ft casket and 'mum' arrangement for my mum's funeral on the 13th June. I can't go to a wholesaler as I'm not an official florist/business, so will have to just use greenery from my garden and supermarket flowers. Where else can I buy the leather leaf or is there an alternative? I have a lovely laurel bush in my garden. Will that work maybe?any advice welcomed. I did a cross arrangement for my dads funeral so wanted to do my mums flowers too. I'm no expert and i don't expect the arrangements to be anywhere near as professional as a trained florist but they will be made with love, if that makes sense. Thank you x
@jemsfloralstudiotheacademy709115 күн бұрын
Hey lovely! I can help here. There is a wholesalers called triangle nursery online, open to the public (UK based) they will deliver to your door. I’m pretty sure it’s next day delivery but I haven’t used them so unsure on this. I know Florists that do use them though. I’ve just checked the website out and their prices are near enough the same as what I get the for (so bonus) For the mum tribute, type in “Bonita” in the search bar and you can get them in packs of 20 stems. You will have some left over so you can maybe make a posy with the left overs. You can also get leather leaf here. You will need 2 packets of this for the 3ft spray. Then you can get all your other flowers there too :) Xxx

Course I can! Please see below: 40 stems of red Naomi roses 5 stems of eucalyptus 1.5 packets of leather leaf We also need: 1 floral foam brick, a single floral foam tray, floristry tape, floristry scissors and normal scissors. This is a 3ft coffin spray and the flowers and foliage used will be the perfect amount for this size xxx

it looks gorgeous, however, it does waste so many paper and cloth, it is sin, the flower will die 3-4 days, you don't even have water bag for the flowers, that's why human beings do damage the earth.
Could you please list each flower/greenery in the comments? Thanks
