Any tips for sewing the zipper pocket to the outer wings when using vinyl? I have been putting blue or masking tape to avoid damaging the vinyl. Works well but a bit of a pain to remove. I guess I could use tear away stabilizer but what do you use?

Hi Debbie, as stated in the pattern, as well as in my tutorial video, I designed the pattern for use with Marine Vinyl and WPC. If you're using good quality materials, you shouldn't need to interface or stabilize.

Hi! Just found your channel and I love your NCW tips. In this video you mentioned a little about how you make sure your snaps are lined up perfectly. I have made a few of these wallets and that is the part that I have trouble with the most. I go to fold it together and the snaps don't always line up! So frustrating! I thought you said you were going to make a video showing how you do a "practice" fold of the wallet before installing the female part of the snap, but I don't see one. Would you mind sharing how you do it? I think you said something about putting chalk on the male portion of the snap, but not sure. Thank you again for sharing your creativity!
@RogueStitches7 ай бұрын
Hi Pcampbell! Life kind of got in the way of creating, both at the machine and video content. I basically do a test fold and put a bit of disappearing ink on the male portion of the snap, once I'm sure it's lined up just right and then press it into the fabric to mark where the female portion will go.

Hello, im new to ur channel, i just got finished watching ur video makeing a tn cloth journal. I noticed u had two pieces of material, + a type of interfacing, then ur grommets & elastic. So here's my question, have you or could you create a journal cover with more (stiffness) as apposed to a softer cover? Ty for reading my message ❤❤❤
@RogueStitches8 ай бұрын
You absolutely can. You would need to use book board, or even chip board in the front and back, but it isn't something you would sew through in that case. You would have to carefully sew next to where the hard material is between the layers of material. You'd probably want to use material that doesn't fray as you'd have raw edges and would want to edge coat them. Hope that helps.

Hi, I made this request to a YT influencer, but was wondering if you have time could you take a look and perhaps make a video. Here goes: I have a request, if you ever have time. It is in regards to boxed bottoms. There are hundreds of tutorials on YT on how to make boxed bottom bags, but my problem is figuring out how boxing a zipper pouch affects both the width and the height of the finished product. It's a mathematical formula. For example, if I want my finished pouch to be 9 w x 5 1/2 h x 1 1/2 d, using 1/2" seam allowances, plus allowances for the zipper seams (or whatever it's called), how would I figure this out? If you were to add a boxed (flat) bottom to the pouch in your tutorial, the width as well as the height would change. And if you wanted to make it the size shown, you would have to use different dimensions to get that result. Therein lies my problem. I want to make pouches, but not always the same width or height as shown in YT tutorials. I would like to create my own preferred sizes. I know this is a lot and hope it all makes sense. I have been trying to figure out this formula for a long time to no avail. If you do a tutorial, can you use the dimensions I listed as your example please. Thanks.

I'm not understanding this. If you sew any lines across the middle section of the zippered part you attached, won't that effectively close up the bottom part of that zippered rectangle? Thereby making the bottom part inaccessible to use? What am I missing? Thank you.
@RogueStitches Жыл бұрын
This is specific to the Necessary Clutch Wallet by Emmaline Bags. It is a more advanced sewing pattern. In this pattern, there's only one side of the divider which is a zippered pocket. You aren't supposed to be able to reach all the way through. It also closes up the bottom of the pocket lining for you. The pattern has you sew a rectangle on the bottom. This is my hack for that bottom part.

Can that method be used with premade zippers?
@RogueStitches Жыл бұрын
You could if you cut off the stop at the tail end. You need to be able to spread the sides apart so that you can stitch them into their prospective sides.
