The garland video you state you were reusing ornaments. Do you reuse outdoor ornaments? If so, are Vickerman UV protected? If not UV protected, do you spray them
@Sullivan_OwenАй бұрын
yes, I absolutely reuse them-only certain ornaments from Vickerman are UV treated but I’ve never sprayed them. I have some that are 7 years old now, mine show wear and tear from all the use but rarely do I see fading.

I am jealous of your neighbors!. The exterior garden is stunning. I love the way it has filled in and flows together. I know you had your challenges on the interior garden & I am so sorry that you lost so many irises, but it still looks darn good. I really like the look where the flowers mingle together. To my eye, it makes a really interesting composition. I am jealous of your roses…between the sawflies, japanese beetles, and black spot, I am thinking of pulling mine. Yours look gorgeous. Thank you for sharing with us and best wishes for a successful vase launch.

My garden is looking the same right now. The weather really took a toll this year. (I’m also in Pennsylvania, not far from you) Your garden is still beautiful nonetheless! I just absolutely love all the roses and irises. They’re my two favorite flowers and your garden has been one of my biggest inspirations for my own garden. Thank you for taking us along for the journey.

The colors, textures surrounding the fence exterior are stunning! Easy to appreciate the progression these past few years. Certainly brings wonder to the works within. Continuity. I can attest the whelm of new projects...their sometime delays in completing, maintaining, everything in between while running business. I look forward to seeing more of your vase creations. Lovely works Sullivan! Thank you for sharing

Anticipating the question "why don't you use other more specialized/powerful tools?" is because: the terrain is rough, there are multiple steep slopes, a lot of vegetation and on top of this there is only pedestrian access...

Your garden is adorable. Sugar maples grow great here in Kentucky, where it gets over 100 f every summer, though we dont have lanternflies yet. Im concerned that if you have to take the tree down, your garden will be destroyed.😢 But perhaps there is another way in. Three years later, i hope the tree survived. 😊 edited to add: i really enjoyed uour talk about the garden at Versailles. I was in the UK to study the gardens in grad school but did not get to the continent.

Hello! Thanks for including us in your list :) Our team loves a challenge and as you mention, we can build any size and include almost any feature. Doors can go anywhere. Windows, louvres, venting in sidewall and roof are a great option and we'll do some prelim drawings to show you what that can look like. Probably our biggest news is that a greenhouse that you've mentioned here can be delivered in about 6-8 weeks. Very different from about 3 years ago when our industry was experiencing an influx. Your note about sidewall height is interesting and there are many ways our team can work around it. We invite a conversation with anyone considering a greenhouse and often work with people for quite some time before they decide. Appreciate the opportunity to provide feedback here. Take good care, Angela

I have seen the Instagram with the peonies that you placed in one of your vases. It was so beautiful. That vase looks like a gown on a woman and I would love to have a vase like that one. I just signed up for the email information to get one, for the future. Thanks for the garden tour and update. I have a small but packed to the gills garden and I do it with no help in the Philly area. I also saw your Munstead wood rose and I'm guess that you might have three of them together? My Munstead Wood rose is very short and not so vigorous unlike all of my other D.A. roses. Do you have three roses together there?

This is really interesting as I’ve recently had some bare root poppies and they said not to plant in the ground right away, but to soak for 3-6 hrs and then plant in pots! I had two fail from a month ago so they did send me some replacements (unfortunately not the same type). I hope these ones work out better!
@Sullivan_Owen8 ай бұрын
i hope so too, Spring is totally different conditions for planting. I wouldn't soak anything for fall/winter but I did end up losing about half these. I planted more bare roots just last Spring and one variety thrived, one failed. I hope you get a great season with the plants. Last year we had a dry Spring and the poppies were amazing!
@ArtByEmilyHare8 ай бұрын
@@Sullivan_Owen yeah it has been so wet here for the past six months, absolutely horrendous. We moved into this place 18 months ago and they have the most amazing HUGE red poppies that seem to do well, so I'm hoping that despite it not being dry here, that they will work out where I want to plant them! I got some called 'white ruffles' which is a huge white one with ruffled edges, really pretty (at least I hope it will be!).

Love your designs. I’m curious what tool you are using to cut your flowers?
@Sullivan_Owen9 ай бұрын
I primarily use a florist's folding knife, when you're trained in a busy studio/shop you learn to use a knife for almost everything because you don't need to put it down between cuts. I also use snips and secateurs for harder/woody stems, my favorites are from Okatsune. They last forever and sharpen well

I think every garden needs a few places to stash those things! I'm not the only one bummed out by the "perfect" gardens on KZbin and the reality is that a working garden needs work "stuff"! Hey Sullivan! Don’t mind the mess :) I’d love it if you talked more about Native Keystone Plants (versus just regular native plants, keystones help uphold 96% of ecosystems and only 14% of native plants are keystone plants!). I noticed you have some in your garden, it’s be lovely if you talked about them :)
@Sullivan_Owen9 ай бұрын
Hi, this is so interesting to hear. I don't know that I'm the best one to speak to the Keystone plants, I don't know much about that category. I choose plants for aesthetic and pollinator/conditions always which means many natives but I'm clearly not a natives only gardener. Can you DM me on Insta? Maybe we can collab on a more informative video? @sullivan_owen
