Congrats to you on tackling the diabetes. That’s a tough disease and I don’t wish that on anyone. I am so glad you are feeling better and your energy levels are returning. Personally, I think you look very young! Now to the vessels and flowers. Simply stunning. I can’t wait to be able to buy one. You have such a beautiful eye for texture and color in your arrangements. Shoot, it even looks great when you put your excess foliage in the bucket. Also, I would love a dahlia tour. I am a dahlia fanatic. Can you name your top 5 favorites? I feel like they are so misunderstood as garden plants, if you want perfect looking plants all the time then you'll hate them but if you can just let them be and live with their quirks which depend on the garden and weather, they are so rewarding-they just want to grow. Besides cutting from them and cutting a few down for winter just so the canes don't break, I've done nothing to them!

I panicked this morning when I want to see what you were up to but couldn’t remember your name……thankfully I remembered i saved some of your videos into my Dahlias playlist! Super glad you did the surgery for yourself. I had a hysterectomy a year ago and because it was such a rough recovery I learned to really care for myself on a whole new level! I am finally getting a handle on growing so i am here to learn more about arranging. LOVE your style of presenting information.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I’ve been working like crazy to get the first vase designs out to the production studio who is making them from my models. I’m so looking forward to the garden this year, I have one last section to renovate and shh, it’s a rose garden and city sized orchard!

me too, I'm trying to minimize my own DIY efforts when it comes to hardscaping but I think we might be ready to tackle the last section of the garden, a new patio area, a retaining wall and the driveway next year with the help of some friends who have a hardscaping company-I'll be designing and planting but need to slow down on the hauling of pavers and boulders!

Kudos to you for making a brave decision to improve your health! I was motivated to make dietary changes to lower my blood sugar earlier this year and lost 40 pounds. I feel great, but I think it is because I eliminated most sugar and carbs (not because of the weight loss). So glad you're back. Love, love, love these arrangements - the color and texture combinations are so fresh and so "you"!

You look great! My Sister had the same surgery, but hasn’t done what she’s supposed to do. She only looks like she lost maybe 20 lbs, I’m sad that she isn’t eating right after going thru all that. I always thought you should be a stick person with all the hard work you do! 😂 I hope you take that as a compliment. I’ve really missed your videos!

Love your designs. I’m curious what tool you are using to cut your flowers?

I primarily use a florist's folding knife, when you're trained in a busy studio/shop you learn to use a knife for almost everything because you don't need to put it down between cuts. I also use snips and secateurs for harder/woody stems, my favorites are from Okatsune. They last forever and sharpen well

Yes, I understand the weight loss struggle and the product of hereditary diabetes. I went through weight loss surgery in 2000, so 24 years in now! Really wish I could chat with you privately to let you know some things they don't really tell you about. I'm glad to find you back doing KZbin again. I can't wait to see some new content from you!

yes, I generally look more tired and older since losing weight. I've lost 100lbs now and that's much better for my health. I'll take looking tired and a bit haggard 😀
