A well sorted flat twin can be started with your hand pushing down on the starter. Won lots of bar bets with an R60/2

Matt, you have the coolest job. Love what you do. Would be really cool to work with Harley and make officially licensed parts for all those bikes. To be able to make a full bike with as much original as possible but finish with new officially licensed parts if needed. Also would be cool to be just a random new guy who wants to buy and build a bike with the selection of all the frames, engines, tanks, lights, and all other components needed to build brand new quality bikes. Have the American made new old school Harley build scene become huge. If anyone can make it happen, it's you.

My buddy and I had Sportsters in the early '70s. The nomenclature at the time had two model numbers: XLCH, and the XLH, the ONLY difference was that the XLH had an electric starter. The heads were sent to Jerry Branch to get ported and polished, and immediately put a Mikuni carb on there

I have a 73 Sportster that I bought brand new in November of 72. I had a 74 Super Glide that had the same motor as that 72. It had different fuel tank. Shift pattern was one up 3 down. Still have the Sportster with the right foot shifter.

Left tank doesn't match I guess the other was gummed up pretty bad so for video purposes you just used another one for time constraints? Looks pretty good in video, mostly stock it appears. Love the sound of an old shovel, I've got an '81 FLH.

My dad was a DDay veteran. He was wounded 3 times. When he got home he went to buy a Harley. He test drove it, it caught on fire and he laid in down in the sand. It burnt his inner thigh and he never got on another motorcycle for the rest of his life. I like motorcycles.

The 900 Sportsters were what kept H-D alive during the British invasion when the big twins weren't selling as well. They're easier to work on than a big twin. Parts are cheap and easy to find, they're good looking, perform great, handle great and they get good gas mileage considering their displacement. The only drawback is when you get old those high compression engines are difficult to kick.
