Amazing. My border-heeler pup wanted to herd the chickens like that. But I don’t know anything about raising or training them, other than he needs tons of exercise

So young but not playing. No excitement, no barking, not one woof, tail (the flag) kept down low and not wagging except once, thus keeping sheep calmer. Between the farmer and the pup the pressure was gently kept on the sheep.

Very impressive! I’ve had in my past ones that I trialed, now ones that are pets and a few very impressive working dogs during that time. But, I don’t recall any of them showing that kind of impressive prowess and mastery of their job at only 9 weeks! Wow!

so people can understand that border collies sheep herding is instinctive but they can't understand that pitbulls attacking/mauling/k1ll1ing is instinctive too. ok.

this video of this little guy is a keeper to watch over and over again, I can't believe how smart he is, although I know border collies are the smartest dog of all dogs, I just never saw such a young pup doing his job he looks like he is enjoying bossing those sheep around, I just cant stop laughing
@praiseworthy10873 жыл бұрын
I have had 4 border collies in my life, and only one had those herding instincts deeply, this little 9 week old guy is so adorable, to watch at such a young age, and you dorks who gave this video a thumbs down, you are missing out on the best dogs on the planet, there is not a bad thing I can say about them, they are smarter than a lot of people, oh I guess that's why you people gave thumbs down, that lil pup is smarter than you

Border collies are the smartest dogs of all. Smarter than many people. We had one (and her son) when I was little. Also sheep, of course. Possibly they are telepathic 🤭. Bonita taught her son, no human help needed. 😉

I just love Border Collies, I have one, Mr. Riley is his name, is is 4 now, he was born on a ranch on the other side of our state and the rancher didn't think as a puppy he was a good promise for a working dog on the ranch, but that was ok with us, he is a pure treat to us every day, he is so smart and full of love and always knows hot to test you, but all in fun, I am so lucky to have him, and my heart is for him, he is my love....and he knows I am his momma, he loves me up every day....plus we have 2 labs so he plays with them all the time, they all love each other too. He is a fantastic addition to our household, we live in the countryside, so he gets plenty of fields to run through...

Great young dog. But is it an typing error that this dog is "9 weeks old”. Nine weeks old they have just been separated from the mom. Is it possible you mean "9 months old?” this dog is more than 6 months old!! I also have working dogs. For a young dog, he is pretty awesome!!
@praiseworthy10873 жыл бұрын
that is not a nine month old he is way to small, open the window to expand the video, that is a 9 week old, my border collie was that big at 9 weeks old, look at the face, a nine month old is bigger and the snout is longer, he just happens to be an exceptionally super smart little guy born with those instincts, when I first saw my border collie at just 2 weeks old, he was already pushing a ball around, they are what you put into them. I have had the pleasure of having four in my life time all males and they were all different, only one had those instincts at a very young age, I ended up giving that one up to a woman who had 11 acres and four other border collies, He was an escape artists and really wanted to herd all day long, he later on became an agility champ, so he did what he loved best. Even though I miss him, I don't regret giving him to a woman who absolutely adored him and spoiled him rotten, but that is a nine week old pup

@@praiseworthy1087 ummm... Not trying to insult you. I was just asking the correct age. Thank u for clarifying. I am a long time dog owner of awesome dogs. I thot the age might be a typo. Sorry if it felt like an insult. I'm not an Internet troll!! Kudos to u. I am aware of what u put into anything is what u get!!!
@praiseworthy10873 жыл бұрын
@@oliviam5571 you did not insult me, I just happen to be on my forth border collie, and it is a fact that borders are the smartest dogs in the world, so it absolutely did not surprise me that the pups, herding instincts kicked in at such a young age, my third border was a true border collie and was herding everything that was not nailed down including me, and was a very young pup too, those dogs with extreme herding instincts need to be on a farm, that pup just knew his job. I met my forth border at just two weeks old and he was already pushing a ball around and his little eyes were only opened 3/4
