Excellent video. Why don't Porsche suggest oil change until first service which is two years 🤔 Dealer will happily sell oil for you to top it up yourself..... Not a word about early oil change. My 992 is nearly 1 year old done 6500 MLS.

Thanks for sharing, enjoyed your video. Did you have to loosten the motor mounts and lower the motor in order to get the plenum out?

Love the video. Liked, sub’s and looking forward to more videos. As a new 992 owner, I’m learning how to work on my 992 car and plan to keep coming back. I’ve been working on my other cars for the last 40 years but I’m not a mechanic, it’s just something I like to do but like most people love to learn more from others.

For 911 with side intake vents, you have to remove the air duct to get to the air box. It takes a t27 to remove one screw. Then pull the last ring at the bottom to remove the locking mechanism from the duct then pull the little tab connected to air box on bottom left side. You have to remove the duct under rear wheel well to be able to full the filter out. Also wait to get the top t25 removed from air box after you remove the air intake duct.

1:53 If break end metal is stuck in the oil filter. How is it run through your engine?
@Rennwerks Жыл бұрын
It would have passed through the engine to get to the filter. Some of the metal may be from bearings, or other areas.
@blackericdenice Жыл бұрын
@@Rennwerks Not true. Metal fall off parts and is wash down to the pan. Some of it would to be sucked up by the pump and sent to the filter. The rest would stay on the floor of the pan. Metal is not going pass the filter. This is why when people cut open a filter. Metal is there. I went to automotive school to rebuild engines.

Porsche never skips a beat or misses an opportunity to steal your money so if they're not recommending an oil change before 10k miles, there is probably some merit behind it. This isn't 1974 when engines flaked apart and you had to change the oil every 3k miles.

@glock223572 жыл бұрын
You have to have your engine and oil up to operating temperature to change the oil for ALL vehicles. Stop acting like it's particular to any vehicle. Also, since the OEM oil fill level is 8.5 quarts, DO NOT do what this retard did, and put 7 quarts in, and then start the engine. Even the manual says to put 8 quarts in and then warm/check oil. And as long as you've properly drained the oil completely (on a level surface), there's no reason not to just go ahead and put 8.5 quarts in. Being over by a tiny bit won't hurt anything anymore than being under a tiny bit. There's no reason to "slowly add oil" or any such Tomphuckery. Put the 8.5 quarts in and be done with it. If you must OCD it, then start with 8 quarts.
