Remember this was Post Culloden (1746) The Anglo-British state went all out to Colonise Scotland - Part of Colonialism is, of course de-population, by any means.

The alteration of footage to disscussion, the editing, cool to warm color contrasts, overall color scheme, voulme consistency- the all in all vibe, it was really there. There are just so many details to point out but it can be summed up as high quality. I rarely comment on stuff but I think it's super important to tell (what I think as) smaller channels when you have everything there. The only reason I can think of as to why you don't have more attention is the algorithim so keep that confidence high.♥

I'm so sorry to hear of your grandfather's passing. What a lovely memorial to your grandfather. Treasure the memories you have of your grandfather. You have such a sweet and sensitive soul, As you spoke of seasons of life it brought to mind that there are many folks in my area of western NC currently going through probably the worst trauma they will experience in their life. [Google 'tropical storm 'Helene' and Appalachian mountains.] I have been without power, internet, or cell (text & call) service since last Friday at 7AM. Fortunately, my property did not sustain any damage. I was extremely fortunate! Live each day with purpose and as if it were your last.

My condolences on the passing of your grandfather. It is helpful to be reminded of the solace to be found freely and abundantly outside as we walk through these seasons of loss. May you know the blessing prepared for those who mourn.❤

Thanks for the visit to my old life in Seattle. I moved clear across the country in 2015 to help my Mom stay struggle free in her home of 50 years. She passed in 2018 and I could not afford to go back to Seattle and in addition watched it from afar go down hill. It use to be fairly safe and without people struggling on the streets for the most part. I lived near Port Townsend, on a sailboat in Winslow and then Seattle.

My ancestor, Peter MacDonald left South Uist in 1745. Landing in PEI. Not finding any suitable land , he went back east to Nova Scotia and ended up on The General Line road at a small settlement Creignish Rear. A few generations later, my grandmother Margaret Catherine and her younger cousin, Catherine left the island for America at the ages of 13 and 12. IMAGINE! They traveled to Portsmouth, New Hampshire and worked as domestics for a couple of years. My grandmother married a Merchant Marine from Massachusetts and they settled in Rye, New Hampshire. They had 5 sons, the middle one being my dad who built our house next door. Just one story of thousands upon thousands.

It makes my day when I see a post from you! You gotta lot of books to read this fall!! I do wish I liked to read books. For whatever reason, I never developed that desire. I'm sorry to hear of your Grandfathers passing. You were blessed to have had him in your life. My father's parents passed before I came along and my mother's stepfather passed before I was old enough to remember him.

Gald you had a nice visit in Seattle! Commercial bus travel in the US is not the same as in other countries. Currently, it typically serves those who don't have a means of personal transportation, can't rent a vehicle for whatever reason or can not afford to fly. And usually, the bus depot is now located in a less desirable part of a city. Yes, most restaurants have become a little pricy over here...as with almost everything else. I've lived in a couple cities in NC and discovered I'm not a city type of guy so I doubt I'll ever visit Seattle. lol I know I've made similar comments in the past, however, it bears repeating....you have such a beautiful command of language....you should really write a book!

Ah interesting, I definitely prefer train to bus if I'm going public transport but outwith cities trains don't seem so common in America. Glad to have had the city Seattle experience but happy to back in Scotland again. And thank you so much for your kind words, I've been trying to prioritise writing more recently. Will keep you posted! :)
