It looks so fun. We don't have anything like that in Missouri that I know of but here everybody drives a lot.

Lovely video! I've never been on a sleeper train, though always wanted to go on one. My only worry is that I love looking at the passing scenery when on the train, and at night I'd not be able to do that. So I'm a bit torn here! 😄

Thank you Daria 😊 Ah yeah you have a good point, I've heard the best way to do it is the opposite way, then wake to sunrise from the train in the Scottish Highlands scenery 🌄

I'm a little jealous....lol...I haven't ridden on a train in decades!! I can only imagine that sleeping on a train is somewhat akin to sleeping on a boat with the slight motion of the water rocking you to sleep. I truly hope yall found America to your liking!! Looking forward to seeing that video!

Gosh, I don't know what I'd do without trains, they're my favourite way to travel for sure 😊 Especially lovely during the day with a beautiful view. And yes, it exceeded expectations! Such beautiful nature and warm, friendly people 🤗⛰️

Was not expecting this to be so nostalgic and evocative for me. I've done my share of train travel by night, though usually with my little blanky-snuggling munchkin sprawled out on the double seat above, and me curled up on the floor underneath - trying not spill over into the aisle way! There is something about catching a glimpse of the moon from a train at night. I don't why. For someone like myself who leans vegan, your brekky looked like a delight. And what a bookshop. I just read WITW again recently...It's a marvel - no words, really!

You're coming to our part of the world, Welcome! Since visiting Scotland and Ireland I've always felt the eastern parts of our Great Northwest felt like them both in so many ways. Stay safe, and have a wonderful time!

Thank you! There is certainly a similarity, though the mountains are much bigger in America...in fact, everything is! Felt like we only scratched the surface of all the places we could have seen 😊 We are back now, so will have that video out sometime in the next couple of weeks!

How much is a standard room? Does this include two people and the cost of the rail ticket?
@PilgrimKat

I think it depends on how far in advance you book as to the price. We booked around 3 months in advance and it cost £265 for both of us, which included both the room and the rail ticket. It's around £350-450 for the ensuite shower/double bed options. And £50 for a seat, which is just a standard rail ticket I guess. Hope that helps! 😄
