honestly it looks like those towns in cowboy films but with even less people.
@bluebellbeatnik49453 күн бұрын
the problem is, los angeles towns are just far too big. look how wide the streets are. nobody needs streets that wide. they should make it look more european and less like you need a train to get from one side to the other. there should be another street in the middle of that street at 1:56. it's just way too big. you should be able to walk on one side of the street and look at the other side and fully know whether or not you want to visit shops. in LA, you can't do that. you would actually have to walk the same street twice - once on one side of the pavement and another on the other side. who designed this city? get a european to help you.
@streetview_hd2 сағат бұрын
As the walker in this video, I think you have a great point. I had to walk once on one side and once on the other side to get a sense of all the shops, haha.

i like LA but it's far too wide. You could fit about 4 english streets in between those roads, which all look like motorways. It's hard to enjoy a city that feels like a giant motorway.

Lived in LA from 1965 to 1992. Looks like he started around Fountain Avenue and walked east on Sunset Blvd. I walked from Hyperion Avenue up to Fountain Ave. hundreds of times. I recognize the El Cid restaurant. It was there in the 1960s. The McDonalds used to be the annex parking lot for the old Akron store. Just after El Cid beyond the overpass was a large building where they use to build large prop scenery for the movie studios. Sanborne Junction is still there, but now they call it Sunset Junction. At frame 8.55 at Hyperion Ave is where I lived in the 1960s. There used to be an Army Surplus store on the corner of Hyperion and Sunset. Actor Michael Douglas did a scene there in the movie, Falling Down. Beyond Hyperion there was a supermarket called Food House where my mother shopped for groceries. No longer there. It's amazing how much has changed over the years. LA was a great place to live back then.

When I lived in H.P. in the 80's hanging out on Pacific Blvd it was all fun and games from going to the movies hanging around the arcades on Pacific shopping and dining at thrifty drugs cafeteria diner or eating at 3 crowns swedish smorgasbord restaurant. And who can forget toyville on Pacific Blvd. Those were the days. The only oldest surviving store in Huntington Park is J.C. Penny's other than that the shops on Pacific Blvd in Huntington Park has changed a lot throughout the years.

In 1973, I worked at KFC on Eagle Rock Blvd where Savon Drug Store and Mayfair Market were. At the end of the night, at closing, me and my friend John would take the chicken that didn't sell(and we was supposed to throw away) to Tommy Burgers and trade it for a sack of delicious fresh cooked chili cheese burgers. We were sick of eating chicken and them sick of burgers. It worked perfectly. I was 16. So Jim's Burger is now the Oinkster. Time marches on! It also flies like an arrow, too. I also worked at Pete's Blue Chip for about a month in 1983. Eagle Rock has changed, but yet it hasn't. I recall that Cindy's Restaurant would light up at night so brightly that it seemed like a UFO was landing. I think everything looks smaller to me now. Maine" says "hello" and thanks for taking me along with you. I grew up on both (Little)Saginaw, near Wiota and later Westdale Ave, right across the street from Oxy. Back then we thought me and my friends owned Eagle Rock all to ourselves because we hung out at so many spots. I have so many Eagle Rock stories still locked inside of me, too.

@@MatthiasJurisch John was my best friend back then. He lived next door and later had gotten me my job working there at KFC. We both were prep cooks. Susan("Susy") was his older cousin or aunt maybe. She'd go to Mayfair Market and get us a six-pack o9f San Miguel and keep it in the walkin cooler for when me and John got off work. Then we'd walk to Yosemite Park and drink it while singing Beatle songs and smoking whatever we had at the time. John passed away in 2007. I never learned how he died. We got lots of stories we could have shared. And sticking our arms into a garbage can 2/3 full of cold shredded cabbage, carrots and sauce was the worse part of the whole job by the way. I'd rather scrub those pressure cookers than make that Cole slaw.
@willoughby188826 күн бұрын
@@MatthiasJurisch I was working there when Col Sanders had came in drunk, then thrown mash potatoes on the floor and had tried to get the new young black girl Susy had just hired to eat them. He said that the floors were supposed to be clean enough to eat off of. I got to work just after he had left though. The girl was still crying and said she wanted to quit. I comforted her and talked her out of leaving. She said her family needed the money and if she quit they would be sad. She quit a few days later anyways. I don't recall ever smoking or drinking with John when Susy wasn't there. They introduced BBQ ribs when I was working there. I was only 16. I also worked with John at a rotogravure pressroom in No. Hollywood. His father worked there. Now that was a crazy job!
