That is not the repair for this issue. Motorola 9s12 is the issue, I have done 100’s of these.

Is this something most mechanic shops can fix, or more a nuisance kind of service that only certain businesses do?

Was recently given one of these, minus some parts of course. Trying to find the RJ45 pinout for the accessory leads. Would anyone be willing to ohm out their accessory leads for me? No way am I spending $300+ on leads for a free tester lol. Already tried Google and also tried tracing the connections, no luck.

... Clamps are a wear item and to be replaced if you have errors. Took me a lil to figure that out. each side of the clam has its own dedicated wire. 2 clamps = 4 wires. Cheap and replaceable

This was good instruction to change the switch without needlessly removing other components. Note the a 5/32 socket works well for the 5.5mm referenced for cover removal.

Can’t be much of a mechanic if your a trump supporter and proud of it. That’s a sign of being not too smart. A trump tool cabinet would be made in Russia anyway. trumps a traitor. He gets back in, if he somehow manages to stay out of prison, the repo man will be cummin to get that box and everything in it. this country will be a few billionaires and the rest will be dirt poor peasants.

When I say straight to the damn point. Been having to bypass the switch and pop the hood. After seeing your video has definitely made it just that simple. I'll buy the switch tomorrow and install it. Thank you for making this video 🤙

The source of the intermittent power in the 05-07 is the resistor network SMD next to the microcontroller. The pins you pointed out are just for the display and don't have anything to do with powering the unit. The reason why it appears to have fixed the issue is, in order to remove the PCB you have to flex the board. Flexing of the board will make bad joints touch again, but unfortunately it's only temporary. I have a video posted that show's how to permanently repair this generation of the super duty.

I’m very new at KZbin so my knowledge on all of it’s workings is vague at the best. I will say I’d like to see this young man posting more videos of his diagnosis and repairs in the auto world. I have been in the auto repair industry most all of my life and I believe I know talent when I see it and this man is blessed with more than his share. Great job, I see you may be idle with the channel but hopefully your still active where needed.

My 2006 has issues where the tach, speedo will freeze up and milage will disappear. I swapped in a known good cluster and same thing. I touch the blue conector slightly and it will work. Can a guy cut and splice in a new conector with pins?

Nice box, but shame you consider yourself American.
Came across another fix to this problem. If I remember correctly, the only white connecter on the cluster, cut number 1 wire and splice it into number 19 pin. It bypasses the onboard relay all together.

i'm trying this .... hopefully it works :) :) :) I've been soldering the shit out of the board for days now and am running out of options. :) :):)

pin 1 on blue connector is brake fluid level signal .... 19 is voltage supplied at all times (overload protected) ... pin 4 is accessory delay relay control ... HMMMMM what to solder together to skip the relay :) :) :)
