I eat grilled cheese sandwiches almost everyday, but I've never even thought of putting salt & pepper on them. Sounds disgusting, but I"ll try it at least once. There's already enough sodium in bread & cheese though...

FINALLY, someone toasting both sides of the bread. Once you start doing this, you will realize how much better the texture is than the typical soggy-inside grilled cheese.

Grilling the bread on both sides and adding the salt and pepper before adding the cheese makes this the best grilled cheese sandwich recipe I have tried.
