Congratulations!! I love it, goes to show you don't need all the horses to get it done. Great job.

Hit a pocket today that was 100-150 yards farther than I was a month ago. I already had 11 on my pack back then and picked 5 more today all about 100 yards apart. I would of never been able to carry it had I found it a month ago. Good work.

Not a hunter so dumb question coming - is it the antlers that determines the points or something else?

Number of points is a combo of measurements added together

Cool video, I love In Pinedale Wyoming and she’d hunt up here but the elk sheds get nowhere near as big as Jackson’s. I mainly like to look for deer sheds though. Cool video fun to watch.

@@Beaverhead_Antlers yeah I’ve get a couple of those here locally and unfortunately every year as your driving up at midnight you can see anywhere from 5-15 headlamps already up on the hill hiking. Dang shame and super frustrating. That doesn’t include the people that had already scooped up elk sheds they saw previously. Poaching sheds is bad around here
@Beaverhead_Antlers2 ай бұрын
Yeah I imagine it’s not great here either. I’ve had a few spots I’ve hit that I know had bulls where I found nothing. No fresh horse/boot track and no antlers. Didn’t make any sense

@@Beaverhead_Antlers I totally understand that, when I 1st started some 40 years ago I would beg people to go out hiking & then in 90 the market came along to north Idaho & late 90s it jumped to 32$ elk & 28$ deer then everyone & their granny was looking for sheds since lol obviously the market bounced around like that rubber dodgeball back in school then leveled off mid 2010s to basically what we have today. Happy trails safe travels heavy pax & deep stax !!

You're kidding yourselves if you really think a grizzly couldn't get your meat out of that scraggly little tree. Consider yourselves extremely lucky a bear didn't find it before you got it out.
@Beaverhead_Antlers3 ай бұрын
I’m sure one could’ve gotten it, where we packed it, it was the only tree we could even get it into. I agree, not ideal. Still better than leaving it at the kill site or on the ground. It was only in that tree for ~24 hours before it was shuttled to somewhere safe. Didn’t have a choice.
