RAW files while helpful, can also be overkill sometimes. Stick to JPEGs & then play with exposure settings to get the best output.

Back when this video was made Astrocam sort of didn't exist. Have mentioned it in my Starlapse on Android video though. Also, kudos for bringing it up. <3

@theworldofcool It's for a work thing and they might want to use an app which is more secure. I'm assuming this isn't as secure because in the second step we have to access the internet to upload the photos.

Can you use a computer & something like Photoshop or Lightroom? These software can also help focus stack images in just a few clicks, you don't need Luminar Neo per se.

Hey Junaid. Honestly, I've had the same conundrum. If you have the single transmitter & single reciever version, get the Rode VXLR adapter & you can convert the 3.5mm to an XLR. You can do the same with the dual transmitter & single reciever, but I'm not sure how you would get unmixed audio onto separate tracks. That would need some messing around in the settings. Or maybe you would need a splitter. If you could wait a while, let me source a Rode Wireless Kit & let me experiment.

@@theworldofcool I'm using Redmi note 9 pro , when I take a photo jpeg + DNG with 100 or 200 iso and shutter speed around 1/200th , it is crashing .

Maybe it's the stress of capturing DNGs. Disable that & check once please.

True & agreed. You raise a valid point. Maybe what they say is true. "There are no free software based lunches." But I am inclined towards believing that only enthusiasts & hobbyists would use phones to take photos & may not have that great of an issue with using "unsafe" software. Professionals who have cost & privacy values tied to their photos would be using professional systems & workflows. There could be exceptions or I could be completely wrong. Similarly, there could be an app which does it, but I haven't come across it yet. If I find one, I will reply & add an update to your comment. As far as i know there's nothing on Android that does the focus stacking processing part, apparently it takes a little bit too much juice to run on a phone (for now). However, there *IS* free software that can do that part on computers, I've done it on Linux before with Enfuse.

Correct. There could be free software for Windows as well, however since I'm already in the Luminar Neo ecosystem, I used that in the video. I think it's the acquisition part that's more challenging, processing has multiple option. Thanks for bringing Enfuse to my notice though. <3

Yes. To this day I don't have a 'proper' camera that clicks photos. I only have Blackmagics for videos. So I'm a phone photographer. Plus I believe tripods are kinda necessary. And since phones are small & light, you really don't need those heavy duty tripods, a starter good quality one would suffice & those have gotten pretty affordable by now. Praying lots of good things for you. <3

Hello Hanzo. Go to settings & find the Camera API menu. Make sure Camera2 API is enabled. That'll enable all the advanced options & settings. Let me know if that helped. Waiting. <3

@@theworldofcool Thanks but it didn't work. I think its because my phone is "too old" apparently. Which is strange because I own a Samsung Note 9 and its still a pretty good phone.

@@theworldofcool Yes its updated. What phone are you running the app on out of curiosity? Did you try on more budget devices if the options are there? I don't even have the focus option on the camera shoot modes. So I can't use the app at all for my focus stacking purposes

I have tried it on an LG V50. That's the oldest phone I have. In fact that's the phone you see in the video as well. For this very reason of compatibility, I shoot all videos on that phone & not the Galaxy S22 Ultra which is my main phone.

Oh yeah, the H6 is very popular in India. Zoom has priced it very well here & the X/Y Mic Capsule accessory that you get along with it means you can pretty much use it as is. I see a lot of Indian content creators just holding an H6 up as an interview microphone in their frame, it's been normalised. I too used it a lot as part of the organisations I worked with. But I always knew when I buy a field recorder for myself, it has to be a level up & I got a great deal on the F6 over the MixPre ones from Sound Devices. Honestly, I do envy you US guys, all devices/brands I dream of owning, have native presence in the US, for eg, technically no DJI Drone ecosystem in India. But then having people like you, enjoying my content from here in India, it's like a second sunset, even though I woke up after 0800. Thank you so much for dropping words of encouragement.
