I never had the opportunity to quit my job and hike for four months. I did have the opportunity to work at a job located out in the middle of nowhere off roads not traveled by much of anyone. When I needed to, I lifted my head from my task and stared out into the quiet of the wilderness. My greatest joy was exploring that wilderness and learning the habits of the wildlife and discovering the history of the humans that inhabited it long before modern man showed up. That was my greatest joy: to be inserted into the home of some wonderful wildlife; everything from kit fox to wild horses to bobcat. The birds and bugs out there were crazy, too. I may not have been on some kind of planned journey, but the journey of my life brought me to the wilds of the high desert and I'll be forever grateful.

Creo firmemente en la belleza del senderismo y, como mencionas en tu video, un día malo en un sendero puede convertirse en el mejor día de tu vida. Comparto completamente este sentimiento y me ha recordado muchos chascarros que he vivido. Son esos momentos, los que parecen difíciles en el momento, los que terminan siendo los más memorables. Ya sea el sonido del viento en los árboles o el dolor de las piernas acalambradas, reírse de ello es algo que solo el senderismo puede ofrecer. hy gusy, i am from indonesia, and let me say that i am really inspired from your documentation video. i am a hiker as well, i occasionally think that we need to share this thing in hoping that people are able to understand a lot concerning the importance of natural balance. I live in indonesia with the beauty and richness of nature, but slowly all of that is starting to disappear because too many humans see the happiness of life only in the abundance of money, even if it has to sacrifice the balance of nature. i hike not only about finding peace and realising that we are part of nature, but by hiking it teaches us to re-contemplate that we cannot live without a balanced nature.

Great observation and thoughts. I agree with you on this one. Humans live in ego systems in which they pursue material goods as only value. That is deeply wrong and we can see that in environment around us. Hopefully great change in human contiousness will happen soon.

Veoma mi je žao zbog Vašeg muzičkog doživljaja u Gostuši. Na žalost takvih "džibera" ima sve više, te ova divna oaza gubi na kvalitetu, davno nekada (pre 30 gdina) uživao sam u apsolutnom miru tamo, i potpunom izostanku civilizacijskih tekovina......I POSEBNO MI JE DRGAO DA JEDAN "STRANAC" PRAVILNO AKCENTUJE IME GOSTUŠE, ZA RAZLIKU OD MNOGIH SRBA ....

It's safe. Not many wild life here. But if you are coming for a good hike aim for Croatian Long Distance Trail. This short hike on island of Krk is really not so fun.
