I want to do the PCT so badly. I'm hopefully doing the camino this summer. Your most definitely an inspiration ✨️

Great video! I loved the irony of the ZPacks box saying "Do Not Use Blades to Open" and then seconds later you cutting it with a kitchen knife! 🤣 Da sam to bio ja, prepolovio bih ruksak na pola!

I love your videos and supported your crowd funding campaign for the CDT. I’m wondering if you went back UL to finish CDT? Or is the video in the works? 🎉

Film is done and every backer will reicive a link to see it soon. Premiere is on 10th of Februrary in Zagreb. I went UL to increase enjoyment of hiking. Will I go back to finish? Maybe. We shall see :)

I like the content you produce, but this video feels kinda off. There's a lot of context missing. From this video one could conclude that you solved the heavy backpack problem by buying a UL backpack to replace your traditional Osprey Atmos. If you already did "go Ultralight" as the title suggests, that means you have a base weight below 10 lbs (4.5 kg). It would be interesting to know how did you get from a 25 kg total pack weight to UL one which can carry, at most, around 16 kg total weight. If you just buy a UL frameless pack and put the rest of your gear in it, you probably await even more misery than carrying the same gear in a supported framed pack. Why even go UL, acquire expensive and less durable equipment, and make other sacrifices in carrying less hence reducing comfort, now that you announced on the CDT blog that you're probably done with thru-hiking (an activity that arguably benefits most from UL). You could as well aim to get a base weight of around 7-8 kg and enjoy the trails. Honestly, this just feels like a cheap ZPacks commercial you had to do because you got a discount, and then you placed ULTRAlight all over the video :) Nevertheless, good luck with your next chapters, please stay authentic, and hopefully, this won't turn into another ultralight gear-promoting channel with clickbait titles.

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you like my content. On the other hand, I'm not happy that I gave the impression that I was conditioned by Zpacks to make this video all the more because you say it looks cheap. That is not the case, I am not conditioned to do this video in any form. The fact that I will be wearing lighter gear from now on made me happy, so I made a short video about that fact in a manner I thought people will like it. Namely, the whole story tells about why I went for the easier option. I've never been obsessed with equipment, so it's not even in my interest to literally count every gram and talk about it. I find that boring. I prefer the story and interesting things that I talk about afterwards. I mention the video equipment in the video and I have removed a lot of weight with it. My backpack and tent were the rest of the too heavy pieces that I had to get rid of. Everything else was top notch, so I didn't even need to mention it. Authenticity was never questioned. I don't like to be compromised, but that means that sometimes I will say and mention things that someone doesn't like and in a way that someone doesn't like. After all that I have brought to the viewers of this channel, I think it is a bit unfair to dote on the first sign of a company or hiking concept being mentioned. But I'll take it as well-intentioned advice.

Thanks for the reply, I do understand now. I'll admit I made a wrong presumption here. I’m not an ultralighter but I explore UL techniques to make my backpacking more enjoyable. There are a lot of great hiking YT channels that end up becoming gear-recommending commercials using hype trends and promoting other companies. I like your content because, as you said, it's no-BS honest storytelling. Now I hope we can agree that ultralight is a real backpacking sub-category in which gram-counting gear obsessing to achieve sub 10lbs lays at its definition, and well, that doesn’t sound like Tesla. So with labeling this as going ultralight and with that ZPacks recommendation and affiliate links at the end, it kinda looked a lot like what I mentioned above, so maybe you can understand the wrong assumption I made. But hey, I’m glad that’s not the case, and even if it was, who am I to tell you what to do. Didn’t mean any harm, looking forward to the next videos, happy hiking!

@@NHTesla It's a very nice tent just be sure to not let anything touch the sides of the tent because it's designed for moisture to run duwn the inside of it . Of coarse you got to carry trekking poles or more commonly known as Matt stabilizers .
