At the 8:07 Mark it sounds like a voice is saying "move me", or "help me." That is a very interesting lake.

I was born in GA, I’ve swam in Lake Lanier many days . I’ve always been told to stay close to the edge cause sunken trees, and sharp drops just 10 yards from shore go 20 yards cause down currents that swimmers cant fight cause it is not easy to swim or float on fresh water. Scary shit . Im an excellent swimmer so I’ve never been scared. But I did swan away from the edges many times with friends but always found it scary how dark the water was. Just swimming 15 yards from shore would look as dark as swimming in the open ocean
@Aurorafinebreatth2 ай бұрын
There is also something people don’t talk about. Lake water is harder to swim than ocean and pool water. Ocean water has salt and pool water has choline in it so it increases the buoyancy coefficient. Lake water is pure and you can feel the difference right away. Lake water is considerably harder to swim in

Sometimes I wish the lake could be drained so we could see what the original valley looked like. Not too many pictures were taken/kept of that area before the building of the reservoir unfortunately. Crazy how there's entire bridges far underwater that once crossed the original river channels that went through the area. Not to mention buildings, racetracks, cars, and trees that were sunk that can still be seen.

In 1968, when the Percy Preist Dam was about to begin filling the pool, the Corps of Engineers exhumed and relocated all grave sites to higher ground, including relocating the headstones. Was this not done in this lake?
@queenbluemoon15 ай бұрын
Nope. I wish it was but from my understanding they basically forced everyone out and flooded it.
