I used to love this as a kid (also Chigley & Trumpton), and it was always a bit sad when Windy disappeared into the music box at the end of the programme. Though I used to also love the tune at the end of the programme, when the credits appeared.

The 70s what a time to grow up i was 15 in 1971, so much fun and innocence. I often say to my wife thank god I grew up in the 70s and not these days.

Credit to Cleese for remembering the names of all those cheeses. Not an easy task.

The way John Cleese talks is how modern journalists and bloggers write their avengers movie criticism.

Fabulous cheese shop in Chester, opposite the library, always call in if in the town, always remember this sketch. As a kid in the 60s the only cheese we had at home was Cheshire, Cheddar or red Leicester, oh and those dairylea triangle in school lunch box .😂

Children would surely be calmer and better behaved if this was still widely available to them! Not to mention more nicely spoken. Across Trumpton, Chigley and Camberwick Green, we were given our first and most important lessons in civics. It was a kinder, more orderly and less intimidating world. I could weep for our lost innocence!
