The PIC generally sits on the right in europeans helicopters except for some models like the h130.

Hi Nigel, according to guys at the museum it's protective "blade tape" that's coming off the leading edge of a blade.

Ah. Thank you. I was wondering!! I so love this helicopter. I grew up with the distinctive sound of these iconic choppers in Dublin as the Irish Air Corps flew them primarily in the SAR and Air Ambulance roles.

@@nigelennis5807 You're welcome. I also thought it was a problem with balance or blade tracking at first. The sound is very distinctive. I am blessed to see and hear them almost every month. I grew up in Heidelberg close to Dunottar airforce training base and I have memories of the distinctive sounds of Harvards flying over.

Looks like an engine-on powered landing. Isn't auto-rotation an emergency engine-failure landing?

It is standard practice to have the engine on (idle) when doing autorotation practice. The Museum has monthly training days where new pilots are trained.

I watched this type at first time in 1980. When I was still 5 yrs old. This brought our vice-president and landed in small square in my village.

That must’ve been so impressive. I was lucky enough to see our president arriving in one in Margate in 2019. It was really impressive with all the guards and cars.
