Hi Nigel, according to guys at the museum it's protective "blade tape" that's coming off the leading edge of a blade.

Ah. Thank you. I was wondering!! I so love this helicopter. I grew up with the distinctive sound of these iconic choppers in Dublin as the Irish Air Corps flew them primarily in the SAR and Air Ambulance roles.

@@nigelennis5807 You're welcome. I also thought it was a problem with balance or blade tracking at first. The sound is very distinctive. I am blessed to see and hear them almost every month. I grew up in Heidelberg close to Dunottar airforce training base and I have memories of the distinctive sounds of Harvards flying over.
