I have seen that painting. The paint looked fresh. The only person in the painting looking out is thought to be the only self portrait of El Greco.

Einstein was a plagiarizing fraud that was widely despised by his contemporaries that were actually brilliant. He was an extreme racist and a J-ish supremacist and a terrible person. E=mc^2 stands for Einstein married cousin twice.....

Good ‘works’ do not determine salvation and eternal life….only believing in your heart Christ died for your sin and rose from the dead and confessing with your mouth that He is Lord. Romans 10:9. It’s not about how ‘good’ we are or how much we ‘do’ at all….that’s performance based Christianity based on our own righteousness.…a legalistic religious virus at odds with the New Testament. It’s all about the goodness of God and that He sent His Son to save sinners, to reconcile them back to the Father and give them the free gift of salvation by his grace, through their faith in Him.

Does anyone ever question Einstein’s intentions? He did provide us with the absolute means to disappear forever. Perhaps a read about his wife’s trials might temper our enthusiasm.

Why Einstein called this the most profound painting? More elaboration would be nice. That's why I clicked on this video. It's like cover and the book has nothing to do with each other. Disappointing.

The technical aspects of painting can be learnt, but El Greco has the ability to imbue his painting with emotion. Extremely difficult.

We are not told why Einstein thought this painting was "the most profound ever." Not that his opinion should matter--he was no art connoisseur. Why would a zionist Jew be moved by this painting? Was it enough for him that its included Moses? Also the narrator makes no interesting comments about the painting, and the title of the video indicates that Einstein's approval was good enough for him. He also makes ridiculous statements when he lists the artists who were later influenced by El Greco, ending with "...even Pollock." Like saying Beethoven influenced many musicians, even Kletzmer players... Pity. A missed opportunity to make an intelligent and informative presentation of El Greco's art.

Einstein found it "profound" . In what way? Lots of others influenced. In what way? Yes, its interesting ( and the "View of Toledo" is up there with the greatest ) but this vid is very short of inspiring analysis.

Einstein is also quoted with saying that Arthur Schopenhauer was a "genius". And boy was he right one more time! On another note: The album by Vangelis titled "El Greco" is as spiritual as the works by El Greco and I listened to it so many times, including in Almunecar and Granada. That said: I am an atheist like Einstein and Arthur were. But I enjoy El Greco's paintings nonetheless.

El greco was only a bad painter. In modern times this was interpreted as 'genious'...

Fantastic presentation on El Greco ! A friend in my of mine is one of the finest painters on earth. He has mastered the style and the techniques of, i think 25 or 30 famous artists. Ken Perenyi has a website, “Old Masters” . Ken’s paintings have sold in Christie’s and Sotheby’s in the US and London. Because I remember past lives, which is not unusual, many people do, especially kids, with my love for art and various memories, I’m sure that I was around a long time ago, probably as a painter 🧑🎨 apprentice or assistant. Oh, Ken’s book about his life as an art forger is “caveat emptor”. Ken is also on YT videos giving Public talks on his work.

It is of historic interest that even Michelangelo did not consider himself to be a painter, he insisted that he was a sculptor and not so much a painter as others. He preferred to sculpt above all else.

I went to Toledo with my husband and there was this Conde de Orgaz painting in a single room on display. I bought a small copy, of this work but in a perfect reproduction on a canvas. I had that painting in a golden frame, in my bedroom for years. My husband died there suddenly, and I put away the Orgaz Burrial. I don’t remember what did I do to it. Now I would like to know about it. Einstein, as Jewish, had a different approach to Catholic beliefs. Judaism has no Saints waiting for the deceased Souls in the Other Side…

On April 30, 1939, Albert Einstein gave a speech that began with "if science, like art, is to perform its mission totally and fully, its achievements must enter not only superficially, bit with their inner meaning. Into the consciousness of the people." Based on that comment, I ask all scientists and thinking people to consider what the science's "mission" could be besides the truth. Science seems to have a lot of gatekeepers who ridicule you very quickly if you question science, but science is questioning and looking for good answers. THat's the very essence of science.

There’s one thing that bothers me: why the opinion of Einstein matters. Why is his opinion more relevant than the opinion of the teacher of an elementary school? Einstein wasn’t a specialist in this area. He was a layman, just like the rest of us.
