I own the XL1200T and will not sell for as long I still can ride. It a Swiss knife. The Roads in Europe are not that wide like in U.S, so the Sportster 1200 is considered here a big bike. Those big Harley baggers are nice to look at here in Europe and that's it, the huge weight of the baggers are a problem. Of course not for everyone, but nothing beat a lightweight bike. Sportster is not light but the weight is still under the 300kg from the Softails. The Sportster It is a quick and fast bike. For me it is. The 5 Speed was a pain in the beginning because I was learning the bike. But now I understood the bike the 5th gear I never use it. I'm all the time on the 3rd gear. Lovely gear box. Yes there are so many better bikes. The point is all bikes are good. At the end the best bike is the one you own.

@@The10thManRules I think it depends on how you plan to use it. I’d lean toward the Yamaha, just because it would be a better road bike than the Royal Enfield while still being great off road. Japanese reliability and better resale has to be considered, too. For the money though, the Himalayan is a great value. I don’t think you’d go wrong with either one, but I prefer the smoothness of a twin cylinder over a single cylinder. I looked at the Tenere and Honda Transalp before I bought my Triumph. Hey Stoney! Looks like you posted a video, and I finally saw it! It showed I wasn't subscribed for some reason. If I remember right, did you delete your KZbin channel? Mine is 1330cc, 117 HP and 95lbs of torque. Plenty fast for me. I do speed limit +5. Can-Am has come out with an Adventure Trike. The Canyon. They look different but for the life of me, why would you put a belt drive on it? The belts are bad about picking up rocks. Like in the Ryker, they should have put a shaft drive in it. GenX is moving into the 'old man' category, so we are going to tend towards the adventure style bikes. Not because we want to go on adventures, but because it is more practical for what we want to do. We'll mostly stay on the pavement, but if we choose to hit the ditch or median, the adventure bikes are better suited for that. Detouring on gravel roads are no issue for the ADV bikes. I'm looking at an Africa Twin next year, just as I'm turning 60. I still ride my 350X ATC and Rubicon quad on the farm. Pushing 60, ride a 900 GT but keep a spare T-max for errands and a different kind of fun. The Tiger is the long haul machine for me. I think it is plenty heavy enough, but I can handle it. The seating position was the most important factor for my choice - I sometimes ride long rides, and that is actually possible on this bike with its upright seating position and it is easy to stand up on. In addition, the cruise control! improves enjoyment of longer rides by freeing up the right hand, and helps me keep the speed legal and even - I use it a lot. It was also important for my choice of bike. Allthough not a sports bike, it is quite nice to ride in more demanding environments - corners well and with confidence.
