I removed my stock nocks with a pair of cheap multifunctional pliers. Problem is that the lighted nocks I bought were too thin and just don't stay in place. Starting to consider maybe plumber's tape to make them stick.
@thefrugalsportsman17 күн бұрын
I would be very careful in making sure that the nocks fit tight on their own. A slightly smaller nock may also have a smaller shoulder on it. The shoulder is the lip that sets over the back of the arrow. When the bow is fired it pushes the nock and the nock shoulder pushes the arrow. If the shoulder isn't right the right size on a slightly smaller nock the nock can be forced inside the arrow causing it to splitter and even break your bow or cause injury. I've attached a link for you for the lighted nocks I use that come with multiple bushings so that you get the exact fit you need and they are less then $13. Here is the link: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09BFYQCQZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 I hope that helps. Thanks so much for watching and may God bless you!

@thefrugalsportsman Thank you. I'm figuring all of this out with nobody telling me much of anything. I probably wasted my money buying the arrow enhancements I did from someone else. They charge a bit much, but he's a hella nice guy. Nice or no, what I bought feels like a waste, especially a set of stainless steel inserts with three same problem. Bear X Desire XL stock bolts are just cheapest things you can get and still fly straight. Sadly, I also have 6 fixed broadheads from China that can't be altered blade wise, and THEY'RE the ones that are too big for the nocks. I literally have to drill holes in the stock bolts to add anything back there.
@thefrugalsportsman17 күн бұрын
@@davidcornell4463 That's okay. The way we learn is by making mistakes. So don't look at it as wasting money, but paying for experience. Just take it slow and learn as you go. Above all make sure your arrows have a spine heavy enough for the poundage bow you are using and I personally would stay away from any modifications of arrows as the engineering has already been done with the right weight arrows and components like nocks and inserts available off the shelf. I'm just voicing this for your safety as underweight and undersized arrows and modified components are nothing to fool with and could cost you more than the money you expect to save. Your bow, equipment and your health are worth far more than a few dollars you think you might save. Just take your time, do your research and above all be safe! Take care my friend and I wish you great success!
@davidcornell446317 күн бұрын
@@thefrugalsportsman Looks like I'm going with the plumber's tape at least for the Chinese bolt I tried to alter. The original nock won't even stay in it now. Apparently removing it ruined the fit.

Hello have you thought of putting the jig mold on top of the lead pot? It is cleaner, less steps means more pours!
@thefrugalsportsman23 күн бұрын
That a very good tip and it works well. I tend to just fill the pour several times to heat it faster. Also doing practice pours assures me I have the right temperature on the mold especially on the larger lure pours like 4 oz. I know when the practice pours come out shiny with no wrinkles I'm ready to add the hooks. If the mold is too cold and I pour using the hooks inserted it can be an issue to melt the lead back off the hook. Thanks for sharing your tip and for watching and may God bless you!

Hello dear, I came across your KZbin channel recently, and I have to say, I’m really impressed with the work you're doing! However, I noticed a few areas where some simple adjustments could help boost your channel’s visibility. I’ve worked with many KZbin creators to improve their performance and get noticed by more people. If you’re open to it, I’d love to share some strategies that might help your channel grow. increase your audience and your video views and subscribers will increase day by day.

Love the build! Only question is how do you keep the drawer from tipping when pulling it out to get some thing from the rear area? Do you have it attached to the front in any way? God bless
@thefrugalsportsmanАй бұрын
Thank for the positive feedback! On each of the side of the inside of the drawer cabinet (Not the drawer itself) there are two strips of plywood that run from front to back and extend from the lid down to an inch or so above the top of the drawer sides. So when I pull the draw our to almost the very end and it wants to tip down lifting the back it hits those strips and stops it from tipping. The weight of the rest of the build keeps the drawer hitting the strips from lifting up. I also tend to put heavier items like my steel tent stakes and cast iron frying pan in the rear of the drawer and the lighter things towards the front and that help a lot too. Thanks so much for watching and commenting and may God bless you and Happy New Year!

Freebies corrupt! 😶🌫️
@thefrugalsportsmanАй бұрын
Thanks for commenting as you are welcome to your opinion what ever that may be. I not sure what you mean by it though except maybe you don't like the free helpful books I'm offering to people? The definition of corrupt is to be dishonest. My books are anything but that. In fact they share the real truth about life. Most of us spend all our time seeking after the counterfeits of life only to end up broken or developing a false pride that keeps us from knowing the truth which is that you and I have sinned and rejected God. But because of God's love for us he did everything he could to restore that relationship including sending Jesus to die in our place so that we could be forgiven and truly know him. In the big scheme of things the real way of corruption in our own lives is done by following all the temporary things we think will satisfy only to lose sight of where will spend eternity. I lovingly would like you ask you a question. If you would die tonight where would you spend eternity heaven or hell? Don't chance your answer on something others have told you or something you heard or even my books. Read the gospel of John in the bible and you'll know the real truth that cannot be corrupted. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts and may God bless you richly my friend as he shows your heart the real truth about who he is..

You're so welcome! I use a rock climbing harness instead of a traditional tree stand safety harness. The reason is that it is less bulky and the attachment point is in front at the waist which if I do fall allows me to end up facing the tree at a height where I have a better chance of getting back into the stand and also not hanging in a way where I may not be able to reach the rope and release myself if need be. I found this rock climbing harness on Amazon and it has worked great for me. Here is the link for you to check it out: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P6CK7JW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I hope that helps you. Everyone does things differently. I've forded a lot of fast moving streams, faster than shown. I was always taught and still practice, using my staff on the down stream side. When you brace on the up stream side if is too easy to lose your footing when you take a step.. If if happens with your staff on the upstream side, you've got little control. If the staff is on the down stream side and you lose footing, you've got a lot better chance to brace and recover. This is my 2 cents worth, si you can take it of leave it! Everyone needs to becareful and use common sense.

An easier way to do that is to just get S-hooks. As far as painting goes, get yourself a can of truck bed liner paint from Harbor Freight. That's what a lot of cannon ball makers are using these days. Lastly, I really do not like the bilateral release you showed. The pinch releases are far easier to use. Just thought I'd give you a couple of tips
@thefrugalsportsman2 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing those tips and your experience. I like the rubber band releases because I have had problems with lower poundage braid releasing prematurely. especially from too much rod tension. A Chamberlain release though expensive is probably the best choice, but using different size rubber bands gives me a determined poundage of release with no slipping and they are cheap. You just have to double hitch them to the "S" hook to they stay attached and are not lost in the water. Thanks for sharing and for watching and may God bless you1.
