Eh, I’ve had a cerakoted magnacut deka for quite some time now and the cerakote has held up great, better than certain companies DLC *cough* spyderco *cough* And saying that it doesn’t provide any corrosion resistance is ludicrous, that is one of the major reasons cerakote is used in multiple industries. DLC as a whole is definitely the top of the pile but Cerakote is definitely a good coating. I agree on the steel choice, it’s odd that they chose 20cv over magnacut. Although I’m not 100% sure they were using magnacut yet when they released this version

I have the fixed-blade version of this knife, and although I own about 50 knives of different brands and prices up to $600+, this is one of my all-time favs. I thought I'd lost it years ago and found it stuffed into the crack of the cab of my truck 2 years later :). It had some surface rust but I was able to knock that off with lemon juice and baking soda. It looks like new again.

I got delivery of mine last Monday (07/15/2024). At first it didn't want to drop. I told myself I was going to break it in naturally without adding oil to the pivot or adjusting the pivot screw. A couple of days later it still didn't want to drop so I decided to remove the pivot, washers and blade and clean and lube them and put them back together. Action is like a dream now. I did the same to my 551-S30V and my Redoubt. The 551 has the best action among the three but they're all great fidget toys. Initially, I was reluctant to take those two apart because I stripped a screw of my 940-2 but I was so disappointed with the action of my Redoubt so I went for it. Now all three are drop-shut with no blade play or lock rock. Eventually, I also did the same thing with my 556 and my 940BK-2004. All that remains is my 945.

Mehhh, @ 00:31, you mention the noticeably longer blade of the Ultratech over the UTX 85, which is false. They are very close in blade size.
@yomamaknives89066 ай бұрын
Utx85 is 3.125", Ultratech is 3.4", a little over a quarter of an inch is noticeable for sure to me. The UTX 85 is made to be a smaller option vs the UT.

I added a comment 10 months ago and now after purchasing 18 Microtech’s, I agree even more with you! I have added a lot of the new natural clear versions, Hera II, Combat Troodon Gen III, Gen III with Interceptor blade, 2 Cypher II’s, a few Ultratech’s, a natural Clear Glykon, last Gen Merlot Combat Troodon Warhound… LUDT, Stitch… everything you say applies especially the stability of the company, you know they will be around where some of the newer competitors seem to make knives and disappear for long periods of time - this is a great company with great products and the new models with upgraded actions are just incredible!

They're great company from what I've heard. I finally decided to pull the trigger and get the Modded PM2 with those scales, blacked out hardware, screws, and liner with their acid stonewash... it's an apocalyptic anomaly for sure! oh, added a LNW DCC as well... I might throw on a EMP EDC tab too for fun.. I've had a few PM2's but always gave them to friends or fam because they loved them so much -- this one is MINE!

@@yomamaknives8906 It showed up, and I was stoked, until I looked at the bevel on the edge at the tip, one angle severely assymetrical to the other, and look terrible. I know they resharpen their acid wash blades, so not expecting that from advertised "30 years of sharpening experience" - but now I see they don't have any in stock - so hopefullly, they'll be able to get me a good sample. It is very sharp - but visibly terrible.

I have that same exact Medford. Blue and all. I'm lovin it. Only slight negative is it's very tight to flip. I can barely even get it to flip open with the tab. Sometimes i can't at all. I have to use the button.

Im fairly new to automatic OTF knives . But i do own a few already. Benchmade, Guardian Tactical, Microtech and Kershaw. But... Dang it, the Ultratech is REALLY STIFF in actuation to all the others. I can actuate my Combat Troodon 10 times easily...havent fidgeted with more reps than that. But after 3 or 4 reps on the Ultratech, my thumb is tired out and has a deep trigger shaped impression on it. Is that normal for an ultratech? Ive already got a repair order in, waiting for Microtech to email me a shipping label to send it off for them to check it out
