Unbelievable! I have been listening to you for some time and took it for granted that you were playing most of these songs as they are most commonly played but I looked up other versions of this song and I almost sounds like a different piece entirely. You play it in a much more baroque fashion which I am enamored by. It's great to find another musician who plays in their own style and interpretation without trying to keep up with the norms. I consider your music, music in its purest form. I am a Jazz musician by profession, really an instrumentalist. I play guitar and saxophone primarily. They have their place but the viola has my heart and my ears lately. It loses nothing from not being accompanied. Keep em coming.

So interesting! I know a variant of a similar melody but in minor not major mode. I love your channel, recently found it. I play fiddle/violin and have bought a viola and begun to play it as well, so I really appreciate your videos so much!

Thank you! Ah yes, I know the minor version too -- in fact that was the first version I learnt, but people in the sessions I went to played the major version more often so it kind of took over in my head... thanks for reminding me! I should make a video of that version as well sometime.
