This tune is the Halsway Schottische, written by Nigel Eaton.
It was later turned into a winter solstice song with lyrics added by Iain Frisk, which you can hear at: • The Halsway Carol (Hur... . Even though it's the words that really tie it to the solstice, I think that's enough association for the tune-only version as a way to celebrate the solstice. So here it is.
The tune is often played in traditional sessions in the key of D, and it does in fact fit on the viola in first position in that key. But as I wasn't playing it with any other musicians who might object, I've chosen to move it down by a 5th to better enjoy the viola's deeper resonance. (So if you learn the tune from this video and want to play it in a session, just move it all up by a string and everyone will think you're perfectly normal.)
