this movie is like black and white, contradictory, you may not like it but in a way it's a good movie anyway. It's a strange feeling haha

you miss the historical perspective of 1970s America, particularly Las Vegas , was a time its hard to encapsulate with words because you could literally get away with anything. The entire story must be taken from the understanding that the world was very straight and boring and analog in the 1970s. they were merely making things exciting for themselves with the only resources they had, drugs. That mentality & cultural period beget the book. The movie is watered down.

yes, thank you for your comment. I agree with you. This movie (and many others too I think), they may be a little hard to understand completely if we look at them with our today's perspective. In a way, films can help us to understand better our history because they represent a certain era, a decade, a moment in people´s life or the society itself in an specifically moment. When I know the whole picture, even if i don't like the movie, I enjoy it anyway

Your breakdown of disdain for this movie really was done in the most polite and professional manner. I think you made this movie more likeable 😂 Fan of the book and movie 🤙🏼

haha I like to give points (or stars) to the movies I watch just for fun, but of course I don't consider myself "who" to say what is good or what is bad. The same when I read a book or listen a song. If people go and watch a movie and enjoy it, that is the most important. And yes, I love the book too :)

genuinely good video. understandable that its not for everyone. it is definitely a VERY strange film haha. I like that you recognize it as an example of good cinema and recommend it anyway, because others might get more out of it and enjoy it more.

Thank you very much! Yes, I think it's like you said, it's not a movie for everyone. I didn't like it, I think it's a crazy movie and the only way to understand it is by reading the book. But in my opinion is a good movie because the director did what he wanted to do and in the end that is the most important in any kind of art
