What’s the cost on all that dirt and sand
@TheALG

It really depends on where you are and who you get it from. In the video, I spent about 220 for one bag which covered 1000 sqft. In later videos, I got the same amount dumped in the driveway for 89 dollars to cover 1k sqft. Shop around and look at landscape supply stores

I have seen people mowing with electric mowers in my town and they are crap. They are not powerful enough if your lawn gets more than 2 inches high it will not cut it. There’s not enough power in an electric mower. I don’t care what voltage it is it will not cut it if your battery is running down it will not cut it. You get the same consistent every time until you run out of gas. It is my opinion electric mowers are just a waste of money. They’re too expensive to buy one and you didn’t talk about how much it would cost for the repairs on the gas versus electric and I’m sure the electric one is much much more expensive to have repaired

You notice any issues thus far with the metal couplings in the hoses you've used? They will react with the chlorinated water running through them, but hopefully not enough to cause rapid wear. 🤞 I'm in the process of building a solar pool heater too. I have my sights on poly line and compression couplings. I like your submersible pump idea, I'm definitely leaning that way over finagling with the addition of a multi-line heating setup into the pool's original circuit. Simplifies things, easier time with adapters, plus a redundancy with the second pump! 👍 Your setup is sweet! If I end up with something like it and it works with minor TLC for 3-4 years, I'll be quite satisfied. ❤

I notice some minor corrosion but during the off season, I try to stay on top of it by cleaning it with a wire brush and putting petroleum jelly. I also unscrew it once a month to make sure the couplings dont get stuck. The hose it'self is going strong

I bought a 4 gallon battery pump to treat with Dimension. If I am treating roughly 2200 square feet 4 gallons is way too big correct? I figure 2 gallons should be enough for my lawn. I am asking because I can still return it for a smaller one since it hasn't been used.
@TheALG
@TheALG 2 күн бұрын
Practice walking with plain water and see how much you can put out walking at a comfortable speed. Whatever amount you calculate, just fill enough water to spray over your yard. I would still keep the sprayer because battery is the way to go, and it doesn't hurt to have a 4 gallon.

Does Dimension also have to be applied twice in the fall and twice in the spring?
@TheALG
@TheALG 3 күн бұрын
No. I typically use dimension in the spring. Split apps works best from my experience but you can just do 1 app if you choose. If you choose to apply in the spring and fall, make sure you don't go over the yearly max.

One thing I love about gas mowers and why I switched back to gas was consistent power. Even with a drop of gas left still the same. Battery mowers struggle in tall grass also battery mowers in tall grass uses more battery power to cut meaning less cutting time. Gas mowers cut for a run time of 3 or more hours. Battery is maybe 40 mins to 1 hour. Battery also takes a long time to charge while filling gas takes 2 mins.

I went from gas to battery, so i am very happy, just a push button, and i and ready to go, no more gas, no sparks, no struggle with pulling the cord, no oil, no heavy pushing to get an hernia, i am not 40 years old to keep pushing around, so much easy and less complicated.

I've used this fly trap before and it caught wat more flies than I could have imagined are on my property, so my question. Is this.. do you think it's effective or do you think it just attracts more flies than would have been on my property to begin with
@TheALG
@TheALG 9 күн бұрын
It's hard to say for sure, but I will give you a situation that always happens to everyone. When you are BBQ outside or just have food and sugar drinks around, how many flies do you see. When you kill them, more keep coming, and it seems like an infinite amount of flies no matter how many you kill by hand.

Another great presentation. Regarding improving the consistency of the walking speed, I downloaded a metronome app on my phone. Using your techniques, I'm going to attempt correlating the step tempo with the sprayer delivery rate. The theory is if I'm walking at that tempo, then I know I'm delivering .367/1000 sq ft, no matter how large, small or irregular the lawn is. Update 6/9/24: With my 24" step and a metronome tempo of 81 beats/min the sprayer applies at the recommended rate. I'm using the Greenworks 40v 4-gal sprayer. It works well.

Very useful information! I've been thinking about getting this product although it is expensive. I am in Texas. What is the exact month to apply in the spring and fall?
@TheALG
@TheALG 16 күн бұрын
It changes based on where you are. Go to greencast online and look up your soil temps. Find out when it drops in the fall to 70 and 55 degrees. Also, find out in the spring when it hits 55, then 70 degrees. When the soil temps hit those markers for at least 3 to 5 days, that would be the perfect time to apply. Look at the 5 year historic average.
@arielstereo5484
@arielstereo5484 13 күн бұрын
@TheALG Does it matter if the soil temperature is between 55 and 70 in September, October, or November? What month is best if the temperature range is between 55 and 70 during those months?
@TheALG
@TheALG 13 күн бұрын
I don't know Texas weather. The soil temps are a good guide regardless of where you live. An example, my fall application goes down when soil temps hit 70 around mid to late Sept and second application around early November when soil temps drop to 55. I can't recommend you put yours down in let's say sept because I don't know when your soil temps drop to 70. Once you get a good idea of when you hit the right soil temps, you can then apply at the right months moving forward. My preemergent application timing is for north GA. Hope this makes sense
@arielstereo5484
@arielstereo5484 13 күн бұрын
@TheALG It helps, thank you. I've never done pre emergents for they reason I am afraid I'll get it wrong and this stuff isn't cheap.
@TheALG

@arielstereo5484 if you have never done preemergents I would go basic granular to start off. It's way easier to apply.
