Are you currently looking to hire apprentices? I am currently enrolled in Skilled Trades Ontario. I am eager to learn and motivated. The shop I currently work on doesn’t align with my work ethic and skill set. I am treated more as an assistant then a mechanic and am looking for an apprenticeship that’s more aligned with me. Your shop seems like just the kind of place I am looking for a place where people are motivated to be the best mechanic’s possible and have drive and ambition. I live in Cambridge Ontario and would like to apply for a position at DG Pro tech. What’s the best way to go about doing that?

Auto lite glow plugs are terrible, they’ll break off in the cylinder and blow the engine up. Oem glow plugs are the only way to go, same with Injectors.

I’m getting oil in my coolant eco diesel, I’m thinking turbo, only place I can see where coolant and oil can migrate, truck runs great but my overflow tank fills with oil. Your thoughts.

Hey Dustin, L5P duramax will continue the regen if you shut it down mid regen cycle

These engines are junk and terrible to work on.

Why should I buy a Silverado that shuts down cylinders? They seem to me to be waiting on a wrecker before I buy it.* I have an 05 that was a lemon because of electrical components. It's broke down a dozen times usually the ignition module. I'm a Chevy fan but I can't afford a truck that will need repairs

Is the bad reputation due to being the #1 truck sold on the market when they began selling them? Therefore, the more trucks sold, the higher the number of repairs.

I would suggest a diagnose locally, that could be a steering gear (box) issue or something simpler

The best fix for any 6.0L engine is to leave them stock, I've run two well past 350k with no issues, both bone stock running good synthetic oil and regular fluid changes. These are truck engines not race engines, treat them that way and they are just fine.

Oh yes, the motor is not difficult to work on, just take the cab off. Nothing like the most complicated motor ever, CUMMINS IS THE BEST
@greenespirit49739 ай бұрын
I just did an entire fuel system without pulling the cab on a 6.7, you can change all accessories without pulling cab, turbo, all kinds of jobs you sound like a fanboy

My 6 .7 will shit All over a cummins cab on or off..cummins makes a lot of noise powerstroke makes a lot of power & Torque and the whole truck is reliable..cummins just the engine rest is Garbage!!

After listening to several videos on the 6 liter Ford diesel it sounds like the best thing you can do to prevent issues with these engines is not to buy one in the first place and get a reliable gasoline engine instead.

Looking to buy a 05 f350 dually with about 135k. Only 5k$ Was a company vehicle that’s upgrading their fleet. I’ll only put 5k miles on it per year hauling firewood and Christmas trees. It’s overkill for sure but seems like a good deal. I’ve never owned diesel before. Is this a bad idea?

I have a different tuner and gauge in my 2019 6.6 Duramax and the main reason I got it is so that I can monitor regens. Just like you said I try and time it so I'm going to be going for about a half hour drive right about the time that it's supposed to regen. My tuner/gauge also allows the user to force it into regen so if you're almost there but not quite and you're going to be making that drive you can make it active before it reaches 100%. Dave

Also, I would love if you did a video on the new diesel safety test requirements in Ontario and how that will affect truck owners who have removed the emissions equipment. I have a 2012 ram 3500 with the 6.7 Cummins were the emissions equipment is removed. I bought it like that and I'm a bit concerned that I will get pulled over. Wondering what would happen if they checked on my truck for emissions.
@gerhardpet1 Жыл бұрын
How about forcing the regen with a scan tool? That is what I do on my EcoDiesel. A few times I've had to check engine light come on and it's DPF related. Both times I did a forced regen and the check engine light did not come back on

Just throw a bullet proof vest over the engine and call it a day...lol i really do love the way those 6.0s sound with the turbo whistle. And they can make a ton of power, i couldnt afford to own one unless i bought one already that had all the problems fixed and bulletproofed . .
