I would like you to do a video on proper warm ups on late model diesel engines...

So your saying that there is an engine under all that gear?

Good lil vid from an experienced tech. I’d like to see your follow up video on this motor. Aftermarket tune & EGR cooler delete kit plus every 30k Mopar fuel filter and it turns into a stronger more fuel efficient & reliable motor with good longevity. 373,000 on my current motor 371,000 on my previous motor that was replaced due to a pushed head gasket due to low coolant from a leaking EGR Cooler. Friend James has over 400,000 on his. Point is it’s not a doomed engine. If you invest a little into it to beat the government emissions tune & system. You will get the clean running efficient and longevity motor you bought. SKT, GDE, HD Diesel, MR Tunning

So maintain yes. I have a 2014 Ecodiesel. It has now 106k miles I warm it up to at least 100°F, keep the RPMS around 2000 til I hit 150°F. The truck is driven 90 miles a day. Let engine run down at destination. Change oil and fuel and air at 7,500 and 15,000 intervals. Use hot shots products. And high turn over fuel station. Sound about right?

Jimmy Wilson: From my semi truck diesel repair days, that is to let the turbo shaft cool down
@jimmyaber59205 жыл бұрын
The number from injector is a quantity per unit time code. Instead of sorting injectors and discarding the ones with too much or too little delivery or forcing injector replacement in full matched flow rate sets, you tell ECM that quantity code. It is cheaper for them and by accident makes it cheaper for repairs. This relates to those multiple bearing opening sizes and journal sizes you find with so many engines for crankshaft. Don’t scrap blocks or use shit tolerances, make it fit with sized bearings and perfectly finished round bearing openings and journals. Some say, “they can’t build shit right, they patch”. The reality is the old way was using clearances that were big and not doing right. Engines are “blueprinted” when manufactured now.

Looks like a disaster to me . I'm sure they are great little workhorse of an engine but looks like a gong show to work on . I tell my customers to stay away from FCA and especially the EcoDiesel . Thats Just my experience and opinions on FCA products

Except it isn’t “junk” It’s a really good engine that has been used and proven for years in Europe.
