I am completely basing my entire project on your videos, so THANK YOU. One question: what is the height of the bar? Looks like you had 7 1x6s but cut one a bit shorter, so I’m guessing with the two 2x4 and bar top that it’s about 41.5”?
@noturavgdad
@noturavgdad 2 ай бұрын
The height of the bar is 42", this is including the 2x10 countertop. The top and bottom 2x4 are 113" in length and the vertical 2x4's are 37-1/2" long. the reason I cut the 1X6 was because I decided to lay them flat instead of on top of each other. If you lay them on top of each other then you will need 8 - 1x6x113" instead of the 7 hope this helps. Sorry for the late response.

Currently building the same bar. What was the wood type and size you used for all of the walls? Great job.
@noturavgdad
@noturavgdad Жыл бұрын
I used 1X6X12 pressure treated wood for all four sides. The back wall was cut to 113” - the width of the bar was 10’ so I just subtracted the 3-1/2 inches for the width of each 4X4. So 120” - 7” = 113” each piece of 1X6, I used 14 pieces for the back alone and the pieces that were left over I used for the sides. I should have used 2x3 for the frame instead of 2x4 then I could have turned the the frame wood sideways instead of flat if that makes any sense. So technically the width of the 2x3 and the 1x6 would have been the same width of the 4x4’s. 0:28 also remember to use stainless steel nails or tested screws like deck screws as pressure treaded wood will eat up regular screws and nails. This is the majority of what I ordered from Home Depot: FastenMaster LedgerLOK 5 in. Structural Wood Screw (50 Pack) you really don’t need the 50 pack but that’s all I could find. WeatherShield 2 in. x 4 in. x 10 ft. #2 Prime Ground Contact Pressure-Treated Lumber (11) WeatherShield 1 in. x 6 in. x 12 ft. Appearance Grade Pressure Treated Ground Contact Southern Pine Lumber (25) Unbranded 2 in. x 10 in. x 12 ft. #2 Prime Pressure-Treated Ground Contact Southern Pine Lumber (1) Gibraltar Building Products 8 ft. Corrugated Galvanized Steel 31-Gauge Roof Panel (4) Unbranded 4 in. x 4 in. x 8 ft. #2 Pressure-Treated Timber (4) WeatherShield 2 in. x 4 in. x 8 ft. #2 Prime Ground Contact Pressure-Treated Lumber (20) Deckmate 3-1/2 in. Tan Exterior Self-Starting Star Flat-Head Wood Deck Screws #10 (5 lbs./280 pcs) Olympic Maximum 1 gal. Cedar Natural Tone Semi-Transparent Exterior Stain and Sealant in One Low VOC I’m going to try and make an updated video and go through all the sizes and how it was built. Hope this all helps.

@@noturavgdad Outstanding description. I am making mine 8x5, so everything as far as the products you used are spot on to what I used. What did you use for you support header across the top of the bar, under your metal roof? Also, what did you use for the two end pieces of the roof that slant down, what size wood? Lastly, did you use Lag Screws to fasten everything into the 4x4? Thanks again!
@noturavgdad
@noturavgdad Жыл бұрын
@@AA1234575 for the header in the front of the bar it’s just 2 - 2x4’s the bottom one is flat and the other on top of it flushed to the front of the bottom one, so from the sides it would look like an L. As for the slant of the roof, the two 4x4’s on the back wall were cut to the size of the actual wall itself 0:33 and the front 4x4’s were cut to a few inches bigger to give it the slant. The frame of the roof was then placed over the entire bar and screwed into the 4x4’s which gives it the slant. I will measure it for you later on tonight to give you the exact sizes. I can send you some photos if you want. Just let me know what you need and I will take pictures and videos of it for you.
