Yoo I remember this channel back in like freshman and sophomore year hs when I was interested in USNA. I ultimately chose USMA (Beat Navy) but the growth is insane! Gl man and despite you being Navy, we're still on the same team fighting for the same country.

I’m sobbing with joy for you and Anna! I’ve been following you since just before my son became a Plebe, now Hera Firstie, and just declared to me his girl is probably the one and only for him. I’m so happy for you and your new wife. I’m struggling through this new chapter coming up in my son’s life,but I’m excited to see where it leads him.

Good day sir, I just stumbled upon your post on KZbin since I am helping my son to be accepted at USNA next year. He just finished the 2024 summer seminar last June and he is convinced to pursue this dream. I consider him an average student and consistently getting awards from elementary to middle school , his first 2 years in high school I still consider good but his junior year in not very good since he joined the varsity wrestling team, his focus shifted to wrestling which paid of since be is the inland empire 116 lbs. champion and will be the team captain this coming senior year but he have a D in AP pre calculus, he still has an above 4.0 GPA and is in JROTC with a rank of 1st. lt. and commander of the drill team and about to become a squadron commander his senior year . He is also the lead altar server in our church that trains incoming altar servers. Can I ask your help , any advice and motivation to have a better chance of being accepted is very much appreciated. Thank you very much.

Class of 2017 here. This definitely brought back memories. 8:51 where I used to walk back from the library every evening after nightly studies for exams. What good times I had.

Yo. If you spend more time investing and learning about options, you can retire in your 30s. I was in USAF. Biggest waste of time in my life.

You where most likely enlisted instead of an officer, they make more money and get better pensions

it's the end of 10th grade... i want apply to the usafa. my current gpa sucks (about a 3.7) and i didn't do much volunteer work. i'm planning on learning boxing and getting a tutoring job this summer, but i'm scared it's too late. i can swim but am not in any teams ( i am not in any sports teams or anything). am i cooked??? please give tips if anyone has any. i'm willing to do whatever it takes, but it might just be too late
@ChukedIII2 ай бұрын
Sydney, you are doing great! 3.7 is great, but you need to stand out among your peers... do more volunteers and participate in anything you can, especially potentially going abroad to a different country! If you reach senior year and still can't get in you should enlist in the Air Force Reserve as I believe the academies have slots for enlisted active and reserve members

My daughter is a 2023 graduate. I think in addition to having the grades, my daughter was an excellent athlete and participated in many sports over the years. She also had church duties and a job at Chipotle. I think the Academy wants to see that a person can successfully juggle a schedule like that and not burn out. I remember when we went to hear a seminar for the Airforce Academy, they asked the parents has your child ever pushed a broom across the room? Has your child ever been trusted with the keys to lock up a store at the end of the day? I think most of the parents were taken aback to hear that. One parent was so shocked she said, no, what use would my son have with a broom in the Air Force Academy? I think she missed the point ....

Interesting, they play the same game we played in China 40 years ago, e.g. slapping the paper pancake and kicking the birdie. I am glad you get a chance to study. They are our strong ally in the region.

In 1976 , I was in United States Army as a WAC! Ft. Jackson S.C. N.G. , NCO school, then 1979 went in Active Duty. BEST TIME OF MY LIFE! I was PFC , SP4-SP5 ( was up for SP6) active duty went PVT one rank below , the rank you were last on active duty. Sour 💊. As FYI learn the people under you. Before you jump on someone, they might now more than you now. One captain, 2 SFC LEARNED THE HARD WAY.😊. YES SP4 that learns and uses the open door, bites back harder. Capt. on carpet 2x … SFC’s loss one rank and removal from post.😊
