my friends and I had this VHS tape and would watch it constantly. I'm talking staying up until 4AM analyzing each song. I will say with an attitude that JP's solo is one of the top 3 solos in prog. Fuck that, it's one of the top 5 written guitar solos of all time.

Its crazy how great James sounds in this performance. His voice was insanely good. It is sad what happened to him and how damaged his voice got. Its almost like watching D-rose in his prime knowing that he would get injured.

It's amazing how much better this song is than the entirety of the album that came before it, A Dramatic Turn Of Events. Even with a minute and change worth of intro, this feels so much more concise and focused than anything on the ADTOE, to say nothing of the vastly improved mixing and audio quality.

Kevin is to put the blame on yes. Dream Theater were super heavy and fast but also mystic-lyrical-theatrical and maybe romantic. All those things went away when Kevin left the band...well there was scenes from a momory but that was it.

Saw the Awake Tour in L.A in -95. About the the whole MI were there that evening. Unfortunately we missed most of the Fates Warning show due the traffic jam travelling from San Diego. MP took the spirit with him when he left, hopefully he’ll bring that back.

Éste es el puto Dream que nos lavó el cerebro. Que perfección, a veces siento que Jordan Rudess llegó a dañar ésto. Con todo el respeto de algunos discos donde él está, pero, que va, éste Dream no lo cambio por más nada.

At 7:03 when Kev lifts the left edge of his keyboard, is that done so he can continue playing with the same pressure with his fingers but make it gradually louder by shortening the distance between his fingers and the keys (assuming the keyboard his velocity sensitive keys, which I'd be surprised if it didn't) ?
