Bruce🎸 when I can't find my comment, I try it again and click at "Newest". And? There it is. Or maybe it was only a technical problem when it disappeared. Then I write another one. But to accuse someone of censorship? Please apologise.

My personal opinion is that skill is one thing, you can be technical and so on, but Charisma, Passion and Drive is something else, you cant really learn that. I think Eric Carr was given the short stick in Kiss and could have done so much more. I really feelt he gave it his all, money wasnt the drive for him. He really loved and appreciated the fans. Sent them letters and postcards. Took the time to talk to them. His drumming was great and he singing was great. Little caesar was good, but the song Ain That Peculiar was better because you could hear his voice more clearly. It was on the box set in 2001. His drum solos were and, the audience seemed to like it. There were demos for Hot in the Shade that should have been on the album that were better then some of the songs on there. Same with Crazy Nights and Asylum. Bought the Creatures deluxe set, many great demos there too. I think that Eric Carr deserved to be on a official live album and they really had the chance to do it many times during the 1980s. Just watch youtube and see how many great concerts they did when they were on fire and the audience were wild and crasy but it wasnt pro shot. Eric Carr was capable of playing what was thrown at him. Kiss was perhaps about making music, but now its about making money and has been for a long time. For me Kiss greatest songs are in the 80s. Lick It Up, Heavens On Fire, I Love It Loud, Creatures Of The Night, Tears Are Falling, Reason To Live, Turn On The Night, Forever, Hide Your Heart and Rise To It and many others With Eric Carrs drumming all over it. Yeah the title pissed me off and to see a picture of Eric next to Singer. Think that was cheesy. My opinion. Cheers.

Why are drummers always so critical of each other? I’ve always loved Tommy Lee, and Lars, but do they get shit by these so called drummers. Guitar players are so much more complimentary to each other . Jake E. Lee , George Lynch and ever Randy Rhodes all admitted to watching and learning from EVH. You can hear it in their styles.

I appreciate Mark clarifying that it was Eric Carr’s later shows with KISS was not playing so great, and breaking down Singer’s career a bit. And I bet Mark’s personal phone call to Bruce eased things a bit. Sometimes all it takes is a phone call to clear the air.

When I notice that the title of an episode has an interesting and/or enticing and/or provocative thing about it, it's merely a title and I know that I'll need to hear the episode before I can say I know what it's all about. I also realize that there will be people who will criticize and complain. Perhaps some of them are doing so because they're the type to complain about anything or maybe they're saying what they're saying to get attention. There are so many kinds of people out there in the world, including mind-sets and awareness levels and some people will understand something, and others won't. This episode was interesting to me because, even though I already understood none of you have malicious intent in what you say, when you explain it further, I'm entertained by how you explain yourselves. Cool episode. 🙂

simple google search says... In July 2005, Carr was voted the tenth best drummer of all time by Planet Rock. No other member of Kiss was given the distinction of making the top ten in the categories of vocalist, bassist or guitarist. Carr was one of only two American drummers to make the list, with all others being either British or Canadian.

Eric Carr will always be a better drummer than Singer...but my opinion is not based on skill level, it's more about emotional attachment. They are both very talented drummers and gave their all to the Band. I remember when EC passed on the same day as Freddie Mercury...I broke down and cried 😢 put on Crazy Nights and from then on EC was my KISS drummer and always will be...thats just my Opinion...my Opinion 🙏 Bless

I couldn’t agree with you guys more in general, but Tommy’s talk about 40 minutes in saying if you think product x is better than product y , don’t just say that and give us some statistics, but tell us your opinion. I don’t understand that part. If I say product x is better, that is an opinion. And then I give statistics supporting my opinion. How is presenting an opinion and supporting it not giving an opinion and supporting it?

The problems I see with people on debates about what is the best of everywhere around the world (sports, anime, music, etc) or when it's time to compare one or another are: one they took it way too much personal if you choose the opposite to the other person, and the other is if you choose for example singer over carr as favorite drummer, immediately, in this case they assume that one you pick is the best and the other is the worst, when that is not the case, the "game" is pick one but it doesn't means the one that is not chosen has to be the worst by default. IT JUST A MATTER OF TASTE, that is why personally dislike the discussion about the best of... I would rather like to choose what is my favorite

I respectfully disagreed with Mark on the actual topic. That never bothered me, because everyone has a right to their own opinions, but when Bruce said he’d been censored I thought that was insane. Well apparently that wasn’t true. He wasn’t censored. So my resentment towards that is no longer valid. I was wrong to react without giving three sides the benefit of the doubt. I can admit my wrongs without hiding behind a fake account because I’m not a coward like most kiss fans 🤣 just kidding.

I have always felt the same way about Eric Carr/Eric Singer. For me, Singer was the better drummer. That said, all issues with timing etc. during the Carr era shouldn't be put on Eric Carr. It's pretty well noted that it was Gene (& Paul) who were behind the fast tempos and irregularity in the 80's and that's one of the reasons I prefer the Revenge Era because that's when they paused, regrouped and got the music back to where it needed to be and the band was as tight as they have ever been. All members were in their prime, especially Paul's voice. The 80's just appeared to be a long drawn out experiment for Paul & Gene.
@jojjeoskarsson784
@jojjeoskarsson784 17 сағат бұрын
What nonsense is that. The 80s were a good time for Kiss to and they did plenty of shows that were great and had platinum albums sales. Paul Stanley really shined as a frontman during the 80s. Kiss became a nostalgia act in the 90s and the reunion had to happen and it did. What timing are you talking about? Eric Carr had bad timing, what shows wrere they? Could you show a clip? I get that people think the snare sound were to high sometimes but thats how you set the drums, but his drumming werent off in any way. Eric Singer is a great drummer to and all drummers in Kiss did their best.

Maybe Bruce Kulick was having a bad day and overreacted? Having a bad day happens sometimes. As far as this “controversy” goes, a drummer discussion like this is NO DIFFIRENT than say talking about who is a better drummer for say, Iron Maiden: Clive Burr or Nicko McBrain. Being an old fart drummer myself, I prefer Clive! But Nicko is good too! Is this opinion reflective of Nicko surviving a stroke, or Clive Burr being currently dead? No. Is it relevant to your opinion over who you like better? No. This is the same stretch for some of these people getting upset over nothing. But that’s social media for you, you take the good with the bad. By the way, RIP Paul Di’anno and hey Mark: nice shirt. Cheers!

Going after family members is crossing a line, though, and a hearty eff you to anyone who would do such a thing! Oh, and FWIW, as a drummer for over fifty years myself, I agree with Mark about Eric Singer. My opinion, nothing more, and no disrespect to Eric Carr, whom I love. It's just a groove, style, "feel" thing for me. Singer is always "in the pocket." Okay, enough drummer talk. Rock on!
