Hi Lukas, We actually met in Duesseldorf at one of the customer you and I worked for (Different companies). You made a great a impression on me and I just found through Linked In the link to your YT channel. I am very and I mean, very impressed on what you are achieving. Huge congrats, but whats more important is .... that I feel I missed out certain opportunities. Frankly... that makes me sad... as I am already 40+ ;-) so I won't be able to turn arond my life, which isn't bad, its actually pretty good, but ONLY NOW I see that this kind of education and pursuit to meet great people and connect with them around the world make so much sense. I had a WRONG perspective for so many years and now I am even angry ... BUT... the important things is actually to learn from it, so my kids will not make the same mistakes. Thank you for opening my eyes and all the best in your future career.

hi Lukas, I understand that one of the most challenging part for international students to break into VC post-MBA is getting sponsored. How was your experience? I guess most VC firms are reluctant to go through the sponsorship hurdles of hiring internationals

Thank you for sharing not for your experience, but you give me an insight of acceptance rate, and the estimated annual total cost. After seeing your video, it makes me motivated to pursue my dream, even though I need to consider the source of my funding academy if I would like to go to Stanford. I appreciate your content Lukas!

How was VC.recruiting for internationals? You have pre-MBA startup experience, would you say having a specific background is a gatekeeper, even at the GSB?

This video was incredible to watch. Not only you shared your own experience with us, you also gave a lot of insights and orientation guides for us, paired with good lightning, soundtracks, audio and script. It was really well made. That acceptance rate is nuts, but, I'll come back in a few years, to tell you guys I've made it.

Speed isn't actually that relevant when speaking English. The focus lies more on vocab and pronunciation

Great video! I went to HBS many years ago and also applied and got into Wharton. I have some additional advice. I only applied to two schools because I was doing really well at my job at P&G and even applying to two schools was a lot of work. I didn’t do as much preparation as you except for the essay, where I actually went a step further and sent them to two friends at HBS and at Wharton to get their feedback. Also everyone has strengths and weaknesses. In my case strength was my work experience and my weakness was my GMAT and undergrad school. However for International students like me they look more at the math and TOEFL because obviously English is not our first language. I also asked a professor to write one of my reco. He had a PhD from Wharton and of course in had aced his classes. Asking your boss can be tricky if they don’t want you to leave so I asked a previous boss and also one my subordinates. I got in both schools without interviews and early. I also visited a class at HBS which was my top choice. I always advice applicants to think of personal accomplishments which were very challenging and made you standout. Again if you have a weakness then your strengths need to be super strong. Think of your competition. At HBS they accept about 10% so if your weakness puts you in 75-80% percentile then your strengths need to put you in 98% percentile!
