the way u explained this is really wellspoken. i think the movie was so intresenting because the disturbingly beautiful shots of backgrounds mixed with the shakey untrusting view of lilico was just so emotional to watch.

This movie is bananas! I just saw it and had to come on here and see if anyone talked about it. I didn’t know about all that that went on with the lead actress. I think she’s totally out of the business now. I’ve always thought the words Helter Skelter are haunted like something in those words conjure up bad stuff. Thx for your analysis it was very good.

just saw the title (didnt finish the vid) and oh.... covid.... yeah. I also got covid for my birthday... also live alone... yeah it was bad. you really just sit there and realize that you can just die alone like that lol. made me consider moving back to va (lol yeah thats another thing in common). lots of misconceptions around covid. my mom in Va said that people are masking again which... hopefully it's because people are realizing that it's still serious and being more proactive about precautions and not because they're working while sick. but yeah this wave was awful. I tried to get back to my routines too early and ended up getting bouncebacks that just ruined everything. turns out if you complain about covid a lot more people come out of the woodwork and have similar stories... I really feel like there's been some sort of coverup of how bad things are still (my friend says that the new cdc guidelines are from the ceo of delta lol) but yeah youre not alone! anyway happy bday and love your vids

happy belated! your covid case sounds like it was terrible. but the alterations you made to the dress are so cute! also, I've watched your channel for a few years but I'm not sure if I knew you lived in the DMV? I also absolutely hate going to Georgetown with everything in my soul lol. damn rich people rejected the proposal for a train station there ages ago and it's made every one else's lives harder ever since.

Not being able to wear certain clothes because of the weather is soo annoying. Especially when you buy a dress for summer and it's either not hot enough for it or too thick for summer

I would recommend looking into proper care for wool garments, you actually don't need to wash them often since it's naturally anti-microbial. But if you need to machine wash them *fold them first and put them snug in a washing bag.* The shrinkage comes from the friction created in the machine so having the item firmly in place will help that. Cold wash on delicate setting, and lastly, air dry them laying flat, as hanging them up will cause stretching :)

Completely disagree about not recommending watching it just because it's uncomfortable. So now we should only recommend stuff that allows us to stay in our comfort zone and never allow ourselves to be pushed forward by art and progress our minds and ideas? The movie perfectly encapsulates the problems in our society regarding the obsession with female beauty and eternal youth thats impossible to achieve, that defines our values as women and our worth. I recommend it to everyone i can, and everyone that has seen it should too. It's thriggering because it shows the truth we unfortunately have to live trough, and people need to be confronted by this.

Good analysis. I always saw this movie as a campy parody of conversion camps, which are ridiculous. Anyway, it isn't a perfect movie but it has always been entertaining to me.

I hope my comment doesn't come across as disrespectful, however, if you liked this movie I highly recommend "Final Girl Studios" analysis over this one. even the intro felt like you were dismissing the movie. I feel like with its powerful message, it also needs a very powerful analysis and this felt very surface-level, even with the way you immediately label Lilico as evil without delving into the toxic standard that shaped her into those behaviors

hey, i also have social anxiety (avoidant personality disorder actually, but it's pretty similar + i used to be diagnosed w social phobia) and it being hard for you to read and reply to comments and stuff bc of it is super relatable, i have the same issue. try to not beat yourself up over it. ♥

Your videos have been so inspiring! It's hard being creative or staying true to what you love while having to keep up with the material conditions of being an adult :( Sometimes I don't want to leave my home and "face the world." But even seeing you go to estate sales or small shops makes me want to explore the world more and build community with people that share my interests and values. Don't feel pressured to upload ❤ Take care of yourself and the rest will follow.

I've been wondering where you've been! I hope your health improves a lot with the new place. I just entered my late twenties a couple months ago and approaching 30 is definitely weighing me down a bit as well-- getting older comes with a lot of evaluation of yourself. I hope you find your "lust for life" again :^)
