You mentioned that in your freshmen year, despite living in dorms and having a meal plan, you cooked your own food? Do the dorms have a FULL kitchen on each floor or something like that?
@powpaupug3 жыл бұрын
The dorm I lived in had a full kitchen in the common area!
@kiannafraga72093 жыл бұрын
Oh okay even better! So you shared it with like four people? Is that a common set up for freshman dorms?
@powpaupug3 жыл бұрын
Kianna Fraga I shared it with the whole dorm! I believe all freshmen dorms have a common area with a full kitchen, some might even have more than one kitchen depending on the dorm!
@kiannafraga72093 жыл бұрын
Ohh okay i get it now! That makes sense. Despite sharing with so many people did you find it easy to cook when you wanted to without having to wait very long for others to finish?

I want to attend, but I’m concerned with the gender ratio. Is it really just mainly girls and gay men? I’m not looking for a relationship, I just prefer for there to be a balance.

Do you think majoring in Comm Studies is wise if I plan to work in PR? I just think by choosing Comm Studies in LUC it gives me a wider range of work field if I change my mind. What do you think??? pls help lol
@powpaupug4 жыл бұрын
Sofia Chamat I would say you have a lot of flexibility within the ad/pr major and can always take additional comm classes if needed? It comes down to what you’re more interested I would say. Comm studies is more about theory and ad/pr is more “hands-on”

Any of you attending Loyola, if you're going into law or something that requires a poly science pre req, take Professor Danford's class in Political Theory, he graduated from Yale, He's tough as nails, his tests aren't per se easy, but you'll have a brutal and honest assessment about yourself when you deal with his class. He'll make you be honest with yourself about what type of student you are at LUC. He has a great sense of humor, it's dry, but funny, but he can also be a bit arrogant, by that I mean he doesn't really allow you to have an opinion in his class but he does do Q &A style Lecture and teaching. He isn't for the weak hearted

BS in Criminal Justice 13' LUC Alumnus here. What she is saying is pretty accurate. The Damen Cemter was freshly built as of 2013 when I graduated. It has a movie theatre inside and billiard tables in the basement lounge area. Loyola is NOT a party school at all. Most of that will happen off campus. Loyola students are mostly politically Liberal. However, it's not an activist campus. Greek life, if you're expecting Greek letter jackets, they're there, but not enough to notice. If you're expecting to see strolling and step shows that won't happen at Loyola. All of the black greek life is chartered. I was pissed about that. The school is crazy expensive, even for In state students. However, it's definitely for the more serious students. They have been steadily moving up the school tier rankings. For years, they hovered in the Tier 3 or Tier 4 range. Now they're hovering Tier 2 and Tier 3. One thing I'll say, they to find out the political view of the teacher. When you write an essay that requires a political opinion, base it on his or view and not yours. If you know you're professor is Liberal, and you're Republican don't respond with a "keep it real" Republican response say what he or she wants to hear

I love your video and I think it’s really informative and useful, the only thing I would change is the editing. I find that when people use visual examples and aesthetic color pallets in their videos, they get a lot more views and they are generally more engaging. This is not in any way shape or form me hating on you or your videos, this is just some constructive criticism that I think could help you in the future but you can decide on wether or not to take it. I haven’t seen any of your new video but so far, that is just one of my notes on this video.

@taylorpatete5914 жыл бұрын
Wally Kraus being in a big city, the LGBT+ community is definitely pretty large at Loyola! Boystown is super fun too, regardless of your sexual identity! Tbh, not many parties but more of hanging out with your close group of friends since parties tend to get shut down quickly. I just graduated, so I hope that helps!

The story of Loyola University is that there was a priest and a priest woman/monja that had a baby and they didn't want anyone to know and the priest woman/monja wanted the priest guy to quit being a priest but he didn't want to so the women hung herself and died so the guy didn't want to feel guilty so he jumped off a building and died so there spirits are in that school

Ishmael Amah it went great ! almost all of my teachers understood completely and were fine with it. it helped me a lot because i didn’t have to carry so many books for each class and helped me get into studying. besides that i just kept one small binder with a few papers in there for some of my classes and that’s it!:) also kept me occupied when i had nothing to do during school.

Your Video was so helpful! I've been trying to become a paperless for a little while, more so from an environmental stand point. We use a lot of paper in school! The amount of our resources it takes in order to meet our demand for paper is ridiculous! However I don't have a thousand dollars to invest in paperless school supplies. It would mean the world to me if you could make a small donation towards my cause. This is the link to my gofundme page -> www.gofundme.com/f/raise-money-for-ipads-to-use-in-school?+share-sheet&rcid=f6bb3d6763494c9d96167436302e0e15 Even if you don't donate, I seriously reccomend you go paperless. Not only is it easier on your part to organize documents, but it will also save our environment.

Ocean State Job Lot is great for paper items. Pens, highlighters. Jump drives, etc. Walmart and Dollar General are great, too!

I type out my notes after writing them, outside of class. It is more legible and reinforces the notes. Then if you have a scanner app, maybe you can just scan the notes. Just ideas.
@jackiepyzocha73805 жыл бұрын
Maybe you could order a template for these notes. It is easier for me to study my online studies to used this note-taking method. Less heavy in the knapsack, too. Colored highlighters help for different areas in my notes.
@jackiepyzocha73805 жыл бұрын
Cornell Notes method is visual and easy to read, organize. It may work for you.
@jackiepyzocha73805 жыл бұрын
Aside from professors, teachers, et al. Maybe they will let you use a tape recorder as backup. Keep batteries handy. An old fashioned tape recorder and tapes do cost money, but reliable. Inexpensive. They don't always work when you want them to. It depends on the course complexity. I use paper and then scan the notes into my system. Less expensive and less heft. I am old school and depend on paper. One file, hanging files are next. What about remote backup of your notes to your home mac? Best wishes.
@jackiepyzocha73805 жыл бұрын
I combine the 2, i use my printer scanner to scan the notes into the computer. Plus, with paper, you don't have to worry about permissions or electricity. Backup notes, maybe.
