Same thing happened to me. My theory is the bms saw a voltage it didn’t like at all and bricked itself for safety reasons, hence why I grounded it through the cassis and not the bms. Thereby only using the bms portion of the battery for the connector really and bypassing all its intelligence. What voltage did you set your buck converter to?

@@Nebulon0 I regret I don't know what's going on for you. I would check the voltage at the ipad, to verify enough of a voltage is supplied, and that i doesn't drop too much when trying to power on. I would also measure the current, that might say something - if it is trying to do something, or if it's completely dead.

@DrPluring did you mean that you connected the diodes in parallel or series because I believe it should be in series or is it in parallel because of the (BMS) having 2 positive slots?

I used two in parallel for capacity. I have no numbers to back this up, I simply went with two in parallel because I thought one would not be enough, or would drop too much voltage.

This iPad now runs from 'battery' only, no USB power. The iPhone you show however has Lightning/USB connected AS WELL as power to simulate battery. Why? Does the iPhone not work with battery simulator only? Should be same as iPad surely.
@DrPluring
@DrPluring 3 ай бұрын
You are correct in your observations. The ipad fluctuates a bit in battery level, 60-80%, the iphone stays at 100. The iphone would probably run fine without the lightning port connected. I do not remember. The lightning port ought to be a cleaner power source. The diodes are quite crude, the more power the thing needs, the lower the voltage will be, and the diodes will get hot. I've not had any problems with either device though. The lightning port was broken on the ipad, which is why I took it apart in the first place. It is no longer there as I tried to come in that way with the power cable.

@@DrPluring I was wondering if some circuitry could be devised to simply imitate a battery. Capacitor(s) etc. So just that, instead of the battery and it would be powered just from the device being connected to USB power as normal and ideally sufficient to keep it running long enough to e.g. change cables. Acting like and seen by the device as a small capacity battery. I’m sure it would be possible (and extremely useful), but not sure I have the ability to design it.

Hi There is enough thermal paste, the reason is often that the LEDs are run at full voltage and since the voltage in large series is not always stable on those made in china stuff, some LEDs get overvoltage and are the weakest link. Heatsink is really weak, even my 10W light have large size fins in the entire rear area, it could be good to have small fan for interior use to assist cooling. Never file the tip of the soldering iron, you damage its coating and it starts to corrode from the inside. Tip must be cleaned with damp sponge, for example, which comes with the soldering station, always clean the tip after soldering, if you dont use it for while, you can put tin on the tip to protect the tip and when you take it off the stand again, wipe the protective tin off and start soldering. I have same soldering station for basic soldering and tips last long time with the right treatment, then i have professional level soldering station with hot air unit. I grow strawberry plants in winter, at the beginning of summer they get to grow outside. Normally I have had mild flu every winter, but during Corona there was none when we protected ourselves perhaps too much from the flu in the basic season and now that things have become normal this winter I got really bad flu, i was so knocked down. When you are tired, interest or mood is low, it is good moment to take break and maybe sleep overnight and try again. You should never force yourself to do something if it is not necessary to and you dont feel to do it that time.

I’ve just done the same thing but used a Shelly ProEM 50 which is din-rail mounted so looks better when placed next to the contactor and has external CT’s for load measuring, but costs a bit more. Completely agree about what wind and solar are doing for the grid and the insanity of Germany shutting down it’s nuclear plants. If everyone’s hot water tank was able to turn on when it was windy or sunny then that would at least would help the situation. But since there is no direct technical solution available that I am aware of, we will have to do it via variable pricing.

In ATX power supply PCI 12V gives more amps out than 24pins 12v line, PCI and 24pin have separate rail but you should possible to combine both. Good ATX power supplys have electronic overload protection that resets when you turn it off for a while, this what you have looks so cheap one. I used PC power supply years ago to get 12V but now days i use server power supply what was over 40A. I have same booster on my DIY scooter charger and if i remember boost is made on plus side, ground is common.

Hi again. About year ago i made my first 12V 280Ah LiFePO4 battery and have been on my solar system. Last year summer i bought 35L compressor fridge for travel use for the car and those are 100 times better fridges than those Pelter ones what just draws around 4A all time, i made temperature control for peltter but still was not good, compressor coolers/fridges are way better in efficiency, i had 100Ah AGM battery for fridge and it was so heavy and large, i made new from EVE 105Ah cells. Few weeks ago i made new 24V battery for my UPS from EVE 105Ah cells also, had enough of those sealed lead acid batteries what you need change all time. I work with batteries, i build and repair, hobby and works with batteries 😅 My 12V solar battery have that same JK BMS what you have, 2A balance version. I just say for example 4 Amps and in Finnish its like 4 Ampeeria, Ampeeri is like unit word. with JK BMS you can balance battery with balance mode if you have alot difference in cell voltages, just leave it and it will active balance those. Use ring terminals on balance wires, so that those makes good contact when they are under nut/bolt, never put balance terminal under bus bar.

I work in a company that builds batteries and lifepo4 cells do not need to be compressed with 300kg pressure, but the ends should be tightened so that the cells cannot expand any further and can withstand pressure that tries to make the cells bulge, so ends should stand 300kg force. If cells can expand, inside cell the structure can move and reduce the life of the cell. I have made few own 12V 280Ah batteriesfor solar and those have plywood ends with threaded rods, few 24V 105Ah for UPS batteries what have plywood ends and fiber tape around.

Himalaya namnet är ett produkt namn, så om saltet heter det behöver inte betyda att det är det. Bords salt och havssaltet är väldigt processad och blekt flera gånger och så är det av hög koncentrat och väldigt ohälsosamt. By not connecting your negative to the BMS, you are essentially skipping it. Which is not a bad idea because the BMS will disconnect those terminals if the voltage goes under a certain threshold (normally to protect the batteries, so probably around 3.6v), which would essentially always happen when you disconnect your device.
@DrPluring
@DrPluring Жыл бұрын
I believe something like that happened with my initial run, running ground through the BMS. Voltage for the "cells" droppen very low, seems the BMS disconnected them permanently. ipad itself seems fine with the BMS though, no complaints, constant 71% battery level. Anyway, the iPad is on a wall in the kitchen now and has been on with the screen on too 24/7 since around when this video was made :)

I tended to think of starting a realistic mode game after WRSR is released from EA. There seems to be only one major update, waste et al, before that should happen. Running that mode with everything enabled seems............interesting, and most time consuming. It's appeal, for me, would be for the player involved rather than watching at normal speed. Good idea to do a fast speed video, altho I did expect to see your first citizens moving in before the end of it. Clearly it wasn't fast enough, lol. Even with the hours you have had playing this game I was surprised that you adapted well to a realistic start. Whilst I have over 1700 hours not much of that, recently, has been about starting a new map and none of it to do with realistic mode. Even on a well established map you need to prepare so much underground, and above, infrastructure before you expand.

And still no keyboard player for live performances, it's been 10 years since the band reformed. Come on. Half the stuff we hear is pre-recorded tracks. Everything synced to a click track. Not a lot of room for fun, or what actually makes a live performance live, or performance for that matter. Also the sound in this venue was so increadibly fucking shit.
